Someone who films and laughs at someone who is dying should be shot as far as I'm concerned. They won't face charges because there is no law against it, but people like that shouldn't even be here on earth. I hope there is a hell they can go to.

That's horrible. These worthless little scum kids should be punished. How about take them to a large lake and drop them off in the middle of it and see if they can make it to the shore. Let them see what this guy was going thru.

Morally wrong. Sure. But, people are not typically legally obligated to take action to rescue others. So who's going to punish them?

Those sick bastards. Not only did they film the dude drowning, but they laughed at him and mocked him, telling him was going to die and they werent going to help. What the fuck are parents teaching their kids these days. Those punks will get theirs. Karma is a bitch best served cold. Even if there is no law about being a good samiritan, is there too no law regarding failing to report an accident or death? There has to be something to get these scumbags on. There shouldn't have to be a good samiritan law. People should help people. Is there no morality anymore?

The concept of getting views and likes is destroying our world. Such a shallow form of self esteem and dangerous on so many levels.

Helping someone who is drowning can be dangerous.

The best thing you can do is try to throw something to them. Trying to swim out and save them though can get you killed.

This is true. My aunt lost her boyfriend when he went in a lake in Alaska to save his dad. Both ended up drowning and somehow his eight year old daughter and the dog made it back to shore safely.

This, however, doesn't excuse them from filming it and doing what they did.

It's all about how you approach a drowning person. You need to do it from behind.

I think that in the case I mentioned it was because of the cold and the fact that fishing line was involved.

The least you could do if you are not a good swimmer and cannot swimout to save the person who is drowning is call 911...call out for help. Throw a rope out to him....pull him in....there are many things that can be done.

Yep grab the drowing person around the waist if possible or under the arms and tow them back to shore . A mistake a lot of people make is having the drowning person grab onto them.

True, no one is blaming them for not swimming out to help them. It's mocking him and filming it.

You may have seen the recent story where beachgoers formed a human chain to rescue a family caught in a riptide.
