    Desperation from this team. Don't like it. He hasn't earned that yet. Looks like they will be buying out Staal at the end of this year if they can find a way to deal him.

    I would have been very happy w 4.8 x 5.

    It's a slight overpay but guys like Tatar set the market.

    At least they got him locked up. I think he can be a 70 point guy in the next 2 years.

    I don't know, for 5-years this is in the range. If it was 3 or 4 years I'd feel differently, but for 5 at 24 years old this seems reasonable. Maybe 200-300 K too much, but not going to get worked up over that amount.
