I don't think we are getting Ryan Anderson anymore after this Crabbe trade. We must be getting Ariza or Gordon at least.

He's basically another 6'3" combo guard. He's averaged 3.2 APG for his career with a high of 4.4 APG.

With the way Neil played the Nuggets against the Sixers, I think we're seeing something similar play out.

If the trade was for Anderson I think it would have already happened. I think Neil wants nothing to do with Ryan Anderson.

I suspect Neil wanted Ariza and Gordon. Those are two guys that would instantly help us improve next season. Houston balked because CP3 is friends with Ariza and their bench will be shit without those two players. So Neil decided to wait. And I think he was the one who leaked the news about us wanting Melo. Trying to put pressure on Houston to cave.

Then the news about Kyrie broke, and rumors about a Melo for Kyrie swap started to surface. Now magically we're seeing Crabbe get dealt and rumors about a renewed Portland/Houston/NY trade. I think the Rockets caved.

What if Dame and CJ pushing for Melo was just smoke and mirrors orchestrated by Neil. Brilliant!

How is Gordon an upgrade over Crabbe? He shoots 40% FGs, and 37% 3s, and brings nothing else to the table except for being injury prone.

Harkless is already better than Ariza, he's younger, on a good contract for 3 more years. Swapping Crabbe and Harkless for Gordon and Ariza is a downgrade.

The only way I'd be okay with that swap is if we got rid of Leonard in the process and got a pick back as well.

Id be asking NYK to take Gordon and would be asking for Lee back.

It's possible. I think something is going on behind the scenes. I'm still holding out hope that it's Kevin Love.

If Gordon is so shitty, how did he win 6th man of the year?

Yeah, when they extended Pat's deadline it was clearly a "deal coming soon" moment. I'm OK keeping, or trading, Pat. Hopefully the trade exception can be used to improve the position. If not, Pat and Jake to the rescue! ;)

Sorry, too late. That limited time offer has expired. I said to lock the thread until a trade actually happened. Well, one has happened. You snooze, you lose.

Yeah, but Melo and Love are kind of redundant and it still leaves them with Irving to trade for another quality player or two.

Counting stats. He averaged 16ppg off the bench, but used 14.5 possessions to do it--TS% 55.7, usage rate 22.1. By contrast, Crabbe's TS% is over 60%, but his usage was only 14.9.

Basically, Gordon's aggressive and willing to shoot all the time, whereas Crabbe isn't. It's debatable how much Crabbe's efficiency would have suffered if he'd actually been willing to take the third-scorer mantle that was his for the taking. Honestly, if he'd been more aggressive offensively, I doubt he'd have been moved.

He creates for himself and for others and isn't afraid to take a big shot. He averaged 16.2 ppg coming off the bench, compared to 10.7 ppg for Crabbe. He won Sixth Man of the Year. Crabbe didn't get a single vote.

But that's one of his biggest problems.... he's not aggressive. He's inconsistent.
