Sorry man, the Coast Guard is considered part of the US Armed Forces. It is part of the dept of Homeland Security.
The Marine Corps is a department of the navy. The coast guard used to be part of the department of treasury, then department of transportation, then (I forgot) department of homeland security. During war time, it can be switched to be a department of the navy. It's not a branch of the military though. So its the army, Air Force, and navy.
