Per article & Olneys comments the Yankees are to acquire Jaime Garcia from the Twins for prospect Zack Litell.

That deal is done, he's a Yankee and will start against Cleveland Thursday. Could be a good hire, he's a rental pitching for his next contract. He pitched on some good Cardinal Teams that were winners and good buddy Holiday is there for his transition. Better him than Caleb . Yeah that name is funny but hopefully he'll be an asset.

Could be an ok hire, but I don't expect fireworks out of Garcia. St. Louey over the years couldn't figure out if he was a SP, a mid-relief, or other. He's not overpowering and puts the ball into play; not a bad thing. Not overpowering he's averaged giving up a bomb once every 10 IP, not stellar to say the least. I can't drink the Garcia kool-aid (not based on the fact he's a "jaime"), tho' he might turn out to be otherwise eitherway, I don't see Garcia as a cure to our Pitching woes, anymore than I see him unable to stop the fire, rather add to it over time. Hey, I hope otherwise; jes saying I've never been impressed, don't trust this signing tho' there is nothing to lose or is there.

I'd much rather see a proven SP come about, and not with a bulging contract.

I'll give Garcia the benefit of the doubt, unless he fails us...and I'd not be surprised. I see these typical Trashman signings as appeasement only, yet not what the Yanx need, not a band-aid, a fix...!!!

The Yankees I see are still working on Gray and yeah Garcia may not be Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs he'll do better I'm sure than Caleb.

no doubt, yet I don't see Garcia as anything other than a temporary band-aid, hope to hell they don't' sign him beyond this yr....

The 31-year-old Garcia will bring some stability to the Yankees rotation, having logged a 4.29 ERA with 6.9 K/9 against 3.3 BB/9 and a 55 percent ground-ball rate between Atlanta and Minnesota this season.
