She was. No democrat could name any of her accomplishments during the campaign. It's relevant to the discussion about Secretary of State Tillerson's performance, which has been outstanding.

just a reminder...N Korea was not shooting missles off like popcorn and Iran wasn't escalating it's nuclear program under the last administration...since Trump they've all basically said fuck it......two steps backward....we've succeeded under Trump in unifying China, Russia, N Korea and Iran while weakening our relations with Australia, Mexico, Canada and Europe.......maybe you think this is winning because Wall Street is profiting short term now

The good thing I've seen from this administration is the rounding up gang members in Long Island.......credit where credit is due...this needed to be addressed.

You're wrong about NKorea and Iran and China. Russia is of the media's and democrats' making. Demonizing them to no end, regardless of merit to the claims.

People pay when they go to the clinic or doctor's office or whatever.

Works like the post office. People pay for stamps, which funds the operations. Fees might be a little higher for the basic stuff to offset cost of the major stuff.

For poor people who really need help, there's already welfare programs that could adapt to providing assistance.

This set up gives government incentive to control costs. There's no profit motive whatsoever in the government run care providers. Doctors would be paid salary instead of per surgery, for one way of cost control.

If you have insurance, use it as normal. If you want to pay cash to a doctor yourself, feel free. If you don't and get sick, go to the government system and get care at cost or less. If you want birth control, a checkup, or whatever, go see the government HMO.

Apparently you think this is actually a good thing. "Consequential ways" don't automatically mean "good ways". I'm glad I don't live in DennyWorld. I don't handle darkness well.......

    Apparently.

I think he's accomplished things. That was the question asked. Not whether I approve of which ones. Some I do approve of, some I don't. The ones I don't are significant, too.

    Thanks for the insult.

Here's an accomplishment I like. He ended one of Obama's wars. Or at least our participation in it.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/02/world/middleeast/cia-syria-rebel-arm-train-trump.html

During a White House briefing early last month, the C.I.A. director, Mike Pompeo, recommended to President Trump that he shut down a four-year-old effort to arm and train Syrian rebels. The president swiftly ended the program.

The rebel army was by then a shell, hollowed out by more than a year of bombing by Russian planes and confined to ever-shrinking patches of Syria that government troops had not reconquered. Critics in Congress had complained for years about the costs — more than $1 billion over the life of the program — and reports that some of the C.I.A.-supplied weapons had ended up in the hands of a rebel group tied to Al Qaeda further sapped political support for the program.

Unfortunately (for the sake of advancing this country in positive ways), most everything Trump has "accomplished" will eventually get thrown in reverse when the left regains the presidency and/or the Congress (thump the tub all you want about the Democrats being dead in the water. Two years ago it was the Republicans...and we all know too freaking well how that turned out. Never say never). So instead of moving forward on issues that are in the best interests of this country's future, we going to refight the same battles, with results that will likely be different from the current ones. We're stuck. Welcome to Groundhog's Day. This is no longer George Washington's.....or Abraham Lincoln's....or even Ronnie Reagan's America any longer. Right now it's Donald Trump's America.......and that sucks for the last remnants of the American Dream......

A point of the atlantic article is that many of these changes cannot be reversed. They're government programs after all. And many of the changes involve lifelong appointments to hundreds of key positions.

    I quote:

Trump may get to appoint several more justices to the high court. And in the meantime, he’s filling up lower courts with lifetime appointees. As the veteran Democratic official Ron Klain wrote recently, “A massive transformation is underway in how our fundamental rights are defined by the federal judiciary. For while President Trump is incompetent at countless aspects of his job, he is proving wildly successful in one respect: naming youthful conservative nominees to the federal bench in record-setting numbers.”

Apparently they need to fix it already though, it's leaking in places it shouldn't.....these projects should never be rush jobs just to put a feather in the economic cap

They weren't on pause. The N Koreans blew up ever increasing in size nuclear bombs during the Obama administration (and W, too).

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/04/world/asia/north-korea-missile-program-sabotage.html

An examination of the Pentagon’s disruption effort, based on interviews with officials of the Obama and Trump administrations as well as a review of extensive but obscure public records, found that the United States still does not have the ability to effectively counter the North Korean nuclear and missile programs. Those threats are far more resilient than many experts thought, The New York Times’s reporting found, and pose such a danger that Mr. Obama, as he left office, warned President Trump they were likely to be the most urgent problem he would confront.
