http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...waives_griffin/ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Former seventh overall draft pick, Eddie Griffin, was waived on Tuesday. Griffin has battled alcohol problems since coming out of Seton Hall. He was suspended by the league for five games in January for violating the anti-drug program. ?It was time for both parties ? Eddie and the Timberwolves ? to move on,? Wolves vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale said in a statement. ?It just didn't work out for Eddie here in Minnesota."</div> Eddie Griffin is a classic example of a guy that wasted a ton of raw talent. He could have been one hell of a player in this league, but he's an idiot. From showing up to practice late to crashing into trees while jacking off in his car (drunk), he just always makes himself look like a fool. It's guys like him that don't deserve contracts.
He is an idiot. He is just completely wasting his talent with his behaviour off the court. He could have had a good career if he didn't get in so much trouble, and if he was the least bit motivated to do well in this league.
He's like the Koren Robinson of the NBA, hard to improve when your always drunk and depressed. Hopefully he can get some help.

The guy is an alcoholic and clearly has depression issues....he needs help, I'm not going to bash the guy anymore.
I don't give a crap. If he's making millions and is still a drunk depressed P.O.S. bum, then screw him. Let him get drunk and jack off to porn while driving at 1 am, maybe next time he'll crash.
This dude was doing so good but just can't stay out of trouble. I remember not too long ago I was saying dang the Pistons should of picked him up because he was playing really well but that hasn't been the case this year and he can't seem to stay out of dang trouble. And the crap he gets in trouble for is so dang stupid. I think he'll get another chance in the NBA sooner or later because he still does have a lot of talent but he needs to grow up.
maybe he just doesn't care about basketball and once he got that money, he was dones with it. thats what I would do if I ever got the chance to be in the NBA. living the good like doing nothing at all with millions just sitting in the bank
After leaving Houston, his whole career went down hill and I doubt he will ever have a chance to be great at all anymore.

I'm sorry, he's had chances to get help. It was just like Vin Baker in Boston. People said oh how can you hate him, he's an alcoholic. The first time he gets in trouble, ok, I'll feel bad and hope he will get back on his feet. But when people keep repeating this behavior and their making millions of dollars I'm not going to feel bad for that person. We wouldn't get 3rd or 4th chances in life so why should they?

They should feel privelaged that their even able to play in the league and make a shitload of money while they're at it. Professional athletes should know better to JERK OFF WHILE DRIVING DRUNK. Please, I realize these guys are human, but that is just idiotic. Eddie Griffen is an idiot.

Speeding while jacking off to porn when intoxicated. Wow. When you make money from sh*tty movies and playing shittily on an NBA team, why risk that? He could've died, really.
