I had such high hopes for that team. They were GOOOOOOD. Too bad injuries plague this franchise.

It sounds dubious, since the team went 53-29 with Greg Oden. I'm checking the stats as we speak.

OK, so the year that he played 21 games, they had a record of 13-8 with him. And of those 8 losses, only 1 was without all 3 for a total of 7 losses.

So that leaves 5 losses available to match the 50-12 record. And considering they had 21 total losses with Greg in his first year playing (not counting playoffs), I find that hard to believe it was possible.

The teams overall record with Greggers was 53-29. So of the 29 losses that Greg played in, 25 of them had LaMarcus, Brandon and Greg, or 53-25 (18 the first year, 7 the second).

(I did not calculate how many games the 3 of them played that they won, as it has no bearing on whether or not this was a true statement or not).

So it means that this "fact" is fuct.

That is still a good record, but not the 50-12 horse shit.

Yeah, just going through this game log of 2008-09 on Basketball Reference, sorting out the losses, I counted 18 with all three. A few he wasn't starting, but even if the person meant as a starter, it was still more than 12--and that was just 2008-09.

    Put into HCP translate:

The poster implied that Greg, Brandon and LaMarcus lived in NEP at the same time for 62 days. And in those 62 days, it rained only 12 of them. I found out that it rained actually a lot more than 12 days.

We managed to lose a first round series where we had homecourt advantage with all three, I seem to recall.

They would have been good for a long time, perennially in the top 4 of the West. But I don't think they'd necessarily have won one title let alone multiple. They got bounced out of the 1st round vs Houston in their lone playoff appearance as a trio.

Oden would have basically been an Andre Drummond. LA is not a star, Roy was really good but a bit of a ball hog with his iso play.

Oden couldn't dominate Yao because he was just too big. Yao retired soon after.

Yao was also an experienced veteran (and a great center before injuries ruined his career) while Oden was essentially a rookie.

While that may be true to a point, that's not how I saw it. The refs completely fucked Greg in that matchup.

Also that was their first taste of playoffs. I'd have expected them to improve over the years.

Oh well, speculation is fun. Usually. Sadly, not this time.

Yeah, I remember Houston holding and grabbing and it was stifling. Oden still couldn't move Yao.
