I'm running Android with normally about 40-50 Mbps download speeds. The last couple weeks I've noticed quite a difference in page loading times. I've cleared cache, and done all of that stuff, with no help. It hasn't gotten as bad as when I go to the Clutchfans site (same XenForo software). That forum is unbearably slow for me. Well, their fans are pretty damn slow too.... Anyways, is it just me???
Same issue here. I stopped checking out cuckfans because of that dumb ad that you can't click out of. The only way out was to completely shut down the browser. Never let that happen here @Denny Crane . I have zero tolerance for completely invasive ads like that.
cf is pretty iffy with all the ads they run. I believe my ad blocker blocks 5 different ads from that site as soon as you open it.
Yeah, that redirect on their site is a deal breaker for me. I did find that running Chrome with "request desktop site" checked, gets rid of the redirect. Site is SLOW, and I hope we don't hit that point.... BTW- thanks guys, nice to know it isn't just my stuff....
That's the one thing about iPhones. I hate them but I love stuff that always works the same all the time. Can't live without my back button though.
Yeah, screw my iphone! I actually only got it so my wife and I can FaceTime. Now I regret straying from my past successes with Samsung.
This site is almost always quite fast for me. The server is in Portland and I'm in California, so it's not just me being close to the server (less chance of congestion, etc., causing slowness). The times it is not fast are likely to be those when there is some cyber attack going on throughout the Internet, affecting sites much larger. Or when my ISP is having DNS issues. DNS is the process by which your computer/browser converts a name like ripcitytwo.com into it's proper IP address. All connections are done by IP, not by name, at the lowest levels of the protocol. If it takes a long time to resolve the name to IP, your browsing experience can be impacted. This site, by nature, has elements served by 3rd party sites, like the tweets and images and so on. DNS issues would affect all those loading, too. No matter how fast your bandwidth it, DNS issues will make things slow. Smooth and fast performance and 24/7 availability is my highest priority. Next is keeping the site free of spammers and spam.
Denny you are so full of shit! ll the money you are making off of us, you'd think you'd put a little back into the site!!!! Seeing all your vacation pics on Facebook all over the world on OUR dime...... you serious? It's time the truth came out, I had to speak up! Hope this doesn't affect our agreement.
We paid to upgrade to XenForo. We paid for the 3-on-3 tournament and jerseys. We're paying for more swag to give away to the posters. I've not taken a vacation in a long time... Truth.
