http://m.startribune.com/bad-night-...-tasered-then-bitten-by-police-dog/438602663/ A police officer pulled over a man, called for backup. When backup arrived both officers attempted to arrest the man who had an outstanding warrant. He fought back. The back up officer fired his tazer at the suspect, but shot the other officer instead. The suspect fled and the officers decided to send the dog after him, opened the backdoor of the squad car where the dog was waiting. Instead of chasing down the suspect, the dog attacked the officer who had already been tazed.
The first officer should have planted drugs on the tazed officer and arrested him. Problem solved. barfo
Just saw 10-15 cops surround a mentally ill guy on powell and shoot him. These police aren't trained for such scenarios. They dont see the human anymore. They see the action. Are prompted by certain key words they are waiting to hear. Some probably think they are taking out the trash. Fucked up man. They should have a liason with mental health specialists who can be dispatched with officers for such situations.
According to the Washington Post, 604 civilian humans have been killed by police so far this year. One quarter of them were related to mental illness. Pathetic.... https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/police-shootings-2017/
Yeah man its not about thats a human being who is mentally ill and having a fucked up time at the moment and experiencing a breakdown. Its thats a threat and we need to neutralize it. But, its not always a threat. Its a person that needs help.
I've never bought a dog from a pet store but years ago at a mall in Portland I watched a dog untie some wire that was holding his kennel closed. I watched this little dude try to escape, he looked like a Benji type of dog. He was brilliant. Got the first wire off and tried the door, saw that another was keeping it closed and went to work on it. He was 750 bucks or I would have bought him.
Police need $100K per year salaries. To get those salaries a few things need to happen: Universities need to develop curriculum for a 4 year police degree. Embrace Campaign Zero's common sense solutions to police brutality.
When you pay people well, they don't do stupid shit to fuck that kind of pay up. And stop it. These people deal with humans when we are at our worst and the worst humans. The LEAST we can do is properly train them and pay them to do like the 3rd-4th hardest job in the world.
