Wilcox diffently can shoot the ball especially from the 3. Needs work on his handles but with the cap as it is for this team he just might be up with the Blazers for good next year.
I don't know what the hell happened to my other post, but I asked this..... I thought we couldn't sign two way deals since we don't have our own G-League team. Am I wrong here???
You're wrong. It doesn't matter. I don't really like this move. They guy is almost 27. If you're going to invest in the dleague player, at least pick one with youth & SOME upside
Theory: his age doesn't matter because he is a practice player. Conspiracy theory: The agent for CJ Wilcox is .... Aaron Mintz, whose other clients are... Ed Davis Meyers Leonard Allen Crabbe Paul George!
Ok, thanks. I thought teams could have two, two way players; but the team had to have a G-League team. Damn, I've really wanted us to have a team too. I think that would be really cool.....
I wasn't aware of the rule that allows 2-way contract players to only be with the team for 45 days. That's not much.
I assume it's supposed to vaguely mimic baseball minor leaguers with options remaining--you can bring them up and send them down, but the expectation is that they'll spend most of their time in the minors. You just option them for emergency depth or to give them a taste of the big leagues before deciding whether you want them on the major league team next season.
I presume the team and player could tear up the two-way contract and sign them to an NBA contract if they decided?
1) Perhaps you haven't been paying attention for 5 years, but Neil's Modus Operandi has been to get shooters and try to teach them other things. 2) Why get your panties in a wad about the 16th man? 3) According to many here, Crabbe didn't play defense either, so he slots right into Crabbe spot, for essentially zero.
Well, this proves Neil reads this forum. I've been clamoring for more two way players since the beginning of last season. Needle moved! It's never too soon to start planning the parade route!!! BNM
