    If Melo is traded to Portland does he still make the HOF?

    Or does playing for Portland tarnish his college and olympic championships?

    Cuckfans are delusional. They don't seem willing to accept the fact that Ryan Anderson is still Ryan Anderson and no one wants Ryan Anderson.

    They also seem to have no knowledge of what other teams can offer the Knicks that would be better than their garbage.

    First, we don't have Ryan Anderson. That alone makes us a better trading partner than the Rockets.

    What we do have is Mo Harkless, who the Knicks covert. Harkless is 5 years younger than Ryan Anderson, improving, not injury prone, makes less than half as much as Anderson, is locked up on a team friendly contract for three more seasons and plays defense.

    We also have a significant expiring contract in Ed Davis, several young players on rookie contracts (Vonleh, Swanigan and Collins) and we also own our 2018 first round pick.

    After the CP3 trade, HOU has none of those things, let alone any combination that would be attractive to the Knicks.

    The only way they can match salaries is by including one, or more players, over the the age of 29 (either Ryan Anderson or Eric Gordon + Trevor Ariza). The Knicks are going young, so they don't want ANY of those guys. The Rockets only have one decent player on their roster under the age of 27 (Clint Capela) and they traded their 2018 first round pick to the Clippers in the CP3 trade. Even if NYK coveted Capela and HOU was willing to trade him, he only makes $2.3 million, so they'd still have to include Anderson or Gordon + Ariza to make the salaries match.

    Yet, they are 100% convinced that Melo to HOU is a done deal that will be announced soon.

    Clutchfan's current narrative seems to be that what killed the old deal was that no one wanted Meyers Leonard, so it's really that no one wants "Portland's junk," not that Houston's junk is undesirable.

    You have to hand it to these guys--they get creative in finding ways to delude themselves. You'd think one or two of them would say, "Wait a sec, guys--if Meyers Leonard was the problem, not Ryan Anderson, why don't we do the deal with a non-Portland team?"

    Sadly, they are not yet advanced enough lifeforms to have mastered such abstract thinking.
