AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!! I love fire! The campfire is the best part of camping. Effective Wednesday, Aug. 16, all Oregon State Parks will restrict open flames and campfires, including fires on all Oregon beaches. Briquettes, tiki-style torches and candles are also prohibited until further notice. Only fuel sources that can be turned off instantly, such as propane stoves and propane fire pits, will be allowed. Most state parks are already under a fire restriction due to hot, dry conditions and precautions issued by county or local fire officials. We are expanding the ban to all state parks in order to prevent accidental fires leading up to the Aug. 21 solar eclipse. We want to avoid creating new problems for fire crews that are already responding to several large fires. We understand this is an inconvenience for campers, especially those who might not see an immediate local need for fire restrictions. ...got a $1 pair at the local eye doctor here in Albany, they seem to have an endless supply AND if you return them they will give you a free 1oz spray bottle of glasses cleaner -OR- 20% transition lenses!
...not sure, but they have been advertising the $1 eclipse glasses for several months now and if anything it is great marketing because the glasses themselves are printed like a co-branded billboard ad for the doctor's office and eclipse event.
I'm more interested seeing the traffic jammed freeways, roads and nerdy freaks getting owned by inconvienience more than the Eclipse itself
We have a party going on all weekend at our place. A few couples camping out in the yard. Shit could be cray-cray, but we're considered to be in "the path".
I was gonna go up to Oregon but the airfares liked got expensive as fuck, so I'm going to Vegas instead.
Sounds like traffic is already getting crazy in Central Oregon, some gas stations are running out of gas, and the Costco in Bend is already selling out of stuff.
