Okogie scores at buzzer, Jackets upset Notre Dame 62-60

Georgia Tech keeps defying expectations in its first season under coach Josh Pastner.

Already steeled with Top 10 wins over North Carolina and Florida State, the Yellow Jackets added No. 14 Notre Dame to a resume that's looking more impressive each week.

"Teams come in here that are Top 10, Top 25, but we don't look at that," guard Tadric Jackson said. "We just look at team matchups and play with more energy than our opponent."

Josh Okogie made a fast-break layup as time expired, Jackson had a career-high 25 points and Georgia Tech earned another surprising victory over a ranked opponent, beating No. 14 Notre Dame 62-60 on Saturday.

Kennard's late 3 lifts No. 17 Duke past Wake Forest 85-83

A bad week for No. 17 Duke was on the verge of getting even worse. Instead of getting tense, Luke Kennard loosened up -- just in time to save the game for the Blue Devils.

Kennard hit a 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds left and Duke rallied to beat Wake Forest 85-83 on Saturday.

Outlaw's career night carries Hokies past No. 25 Miami

When Virginia Tech lost Chris Clarke for the season with a knee injury, it lost its best passer, its best rebounder, and one of its top scorers.

Not a problem for the Hokies.

Ty Outlaw, seeing the bulk of the minutes in Clarke's absence, continued his stellar play with a career-high 24 points to lead Virginia Tech to a 66-61 win over No. 25 Miami on Monday night.

Guy, Perrantes help No. 23 Virginia beat No. 5 UNC 53-43

Virginia coach Tony Bennett took the blame for a poor approach in No. 23 Virginia's 24-point loss at No. 5 North Carolina nine days ago.

On Monday night, he gave his team the credit for making a new approach work in a 53-43 victory against the Tar Heels.

Jackson scores 22, No. 17 Duke beats No. 15 FSU, 75-70

One of Duke's shortest players kept finding ways to score on No. 15 Florida State's long, tall defenders.

Freshman guard Frank Jackson -- all 6-foot-3 of him -- drove the lane, shot 3-pointers over the Seminoles' outstretched fingertips and gave the 17th-ranked Blue Devils all the cushion they needed.

Jackson scored a season-best 22 points and Duke beat Florida State 75-70 on Tuesday night.

Collins, Wake Forest upset No. 8 Louisville 88-81

Time and time again, Wake Forest had played step for step with ranked opponents only to fail to close out a winnable game.

The Demon Deacons waited until their final home game to fix that problem -- and earn a win that gives a significant boost to their NCAA Tournament chances.

John Collins had 25 points and 11 rebounds, helping Wake Forest rally from 14 down to upset No. 8 Louisville 88-81 on Wednesday night.

No. 6 North Carolina stops Miami 78-53 to reach ACC semis

Theo Pinson tried an alley-oop pass that went directly into the basket for a surprise 3-pointer, and the befuddled look on his face was priceless.

One way or another, just about everything went right for No. 6 North Carolina in its postseason debut Thursday.

Isaiah Hicks had 19 points and the Tar Heels certainly looked the part of a title contender while wearing down Miami for a 78-53 victory in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.

Tatum, Allen lead Duke comeback vs Louisville, 81-77

College basketball's biggest rivalry is coming to Brooklyn.

No. 14 Duke rallied from 12 points down in the second half, getting an emotional lift from a revitalized Grayson Allen, to beat No. 10 Louisville 81-77 Thursday and set up a semifinal match with No. 6 North Carolina.

No. 16 Florida St overpowers valiant Va Tech in ACC quarters

Soon after Florida State fans brought the tomahawk chop to Brooklyn, the Seminoles walked into the New York Islanders' dressing room at Barclays Center and chanted "Semi-finals! Semi-finals!"

Dwayne Bacon scored all but two of his 17 points in the second half and No. 16 Florida State finally overpowered valiant Virginia Tech 74-68 on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.

Colson, No. 22 Notre Dame cruise past No. 21 Virginia 71-58

Since coming into the Atlantic Coast Conference four years ago, Notre Dame has more than held its own as a football school in a tough basketball league.

There was one box the Fighting Irish had not checked yet, and they did it at the best possible time.

Bonzie Colson had 21 points and 10 rebounds and No. 22 Notre Dame beat No. 21 Virginia for the first time since joining the ACC, topping the Cavaliers 71-58 on Thursday night to reach the tournament semifinals.

Tar Heels sign F Garrison Brooks as late addition to recruiting class

North Carolina has signed 6-foot-10 forward Garrison Brooks as a late recruiting addition to bolster a depleted frontcourt.

The Tar Heels announced Brooks' signing Monday. The Lafayette, Alabama product and four-star prospect had originally signed with Mississippi State but received a release last month to reopen his recruitment.

Jordan Goldwire rockets from unsung to elite with Duke nod

Senior point guard recruit Jordan Goldwire has committed to the Duke Blue Devils, much to his own surprise.

"This is crazy," Goldwire told ESPN moments after committing while on a visit to Duke on Monday. "Something I never expected."

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound from Norcross High (Georgia) averaged 12 points and seven assists per game the past season but said he didn't know he was on Duke's radar.

Mike Krzyzewski undergoes successful knee surgery

Duke men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has undergone knee replacement surgery.

Team spokesman Cory Walton said the procedure on Krzyzewski's right knee was performed Sunday by Dr. Michael Bolognesi at the university's hospital.

Bolognesi said the surgery went "very smoothly," and doctors hoped to have the Hall of Fame coach walking later in the day. Krzyzewski is expected to be released within one to three days to begin a rehabilitation program at Duke.

Louisville says NCAA 'abused' its authority, appeals 'draconian' penalties

Louisville said the NCAA "abused" its authority when it disciplined the school for a sex scandal that could result in the loss of its 2013 national basketball championship.

The school also said in a 68-page appeal released Friday that the governing body imposed "draconian" penalties and ignored the school's self-imposed discipline. Louisville banned itself from the 2016 postseason after its investigation uncovered violations.

This is the latest step in a case that began nearly two years ago. Escort Katina Powell alleged in a book that former Cardinals staffer Andre McGee hired her and other dancers for sex parties with recruits and players from 2010 to 2014.

Tre Jones, brother of Tyus, set to follow footsteps at Duke

Five-star point guard Tre Jones, the younger brother of former Duke star Tyus, will follow in his brother's footsteps, committing to the Blue Devils on Sunday.

Jones chose Duke over UCLA, USC, Ohio State, Minnesota and Oregon.

"It is the best fit for me and is everything I'm looking for in a college," Jones told ESPN. "They have been my dream school for years, and there is no better fit than there."
