Topic is simple. Name some young, skilled, high potential players on your favorite team, or any team, that people may not have heard of.For me, it's 100% Amir Johnson.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amir_Johnson<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Amir Jalla Johnson (born May 1, 1987 in Los Angeles, California) is an American professional basketball player.Johnson is a power forward who was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 56th pick of the 2005 NBA Draft. He is listed at 6'9" (2.06m) and 210 lb (95 kg) but has reportedly grown to 6'11" (2.11m) [1]since being drafted. Known for his athleticism, he was drafted straight out of Westchester High School in Los Angeles, deciding to skip a collegiate career. He had committed to play at the University of Louisville. At present, he stands to be the last high school player ever selected in the NBA Draft. Starting with the 2006 NBA Draft, American players must be at least one year removed from the graduation of their high school class in order to be eligible for the draft.Johnson scored his first NBA basket on a very impressive windmill dunk against the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 24, 2006.On February 27, 2006, the Detroit Pistons assigned him to the Fayetteville Patriots of the NBA D-League.Johnson was recalled by the Pistons and on April 17, 2006 scored a career high against the Milwaukee Bucks with 18 points (6/6 field goals, 2/2 3-pointers, and 4/4 free throws), all scored in the second half of the game.Johnson currently plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce after being re-assigned to the D-League by the Pistons.</div>The kid is only 19 years old, and is absolutely destroying the D-Leagues. He has the great work ethic, and his athleticism is through the roof.Since in the D-leagues, Amir has gotten 18/8/2, including a beast of a game.13-15, 32 points, 13 boards, 3 assists, and 5 blocked shots, without practicing and just stepping off the plane and playing. Some other links-http://youtube.com/watch?v=CmQMAp6azNQhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=w2vEuUErwwU

Well, if they are in the pro's right now, and people may not have heard of them, it is for a reason. Amir Johnson is in the D-League for a reason right now, and its because he couldnt contribute right now at the pro level. He might be decent down the road, but if he was going to be a good player, he would currently be on a roster. As for Mensa-Bonsu, I loved him in college for GW, but I feel the same way about him. He might be a decent role player someday, but nothing special.

It's kinda hard to get on a roster withWallaceWebberMcDyessDavisNazrMaxiellJoe (Dumars) has already said Amir is untouchable and will give him a generous offer this off-season so obviously the organization thinks highly of him.

He said that Amir was an untouchable? I will believe that he said that if you show me where...I just find that hard to believe that a player in the D-League right now would be an untouchable player. Although reading up on him, and by looking at his D-League numbers, he looks like he can show some promise...I am rooting for him, I just find it hard to believe that he is really that good if he isnt on their active roster. No matter how stacked they are...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>From the Detroit News...Amir Johnson , back at practice Monday, averaged 17.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocks in a six-game stint with Sioux Falls (S.D.) of NBA Developmental League. He shot 53 percent for the Skyforce. His play drew a lot of attention from NBA scouts and general managers, many of whom have contacted the Pistons about Johnson. President Joe Dumars made it clear Johnson was not available."Amir might be the only untouchable in the league who's on the inactive roster," said George David , director of scouting. The Pistons have no plans to send Johnson, or rookie point guard Will Blalock , to Sioux Falls.</div>

CJ Miles is supposably really good. Some have compared him to Ray Allen, right now he looks like the toothpick out there.I agree about Amir Johnson, he's going to be good some day.

Allen Ray is going to be good. Just needs a little more time, he will come off the bench really good in 2-3 years.

Give him some time and he will start to turn it on. I saw him play in highschool out of Dallas Skyline, and he was a hell of a player. Also, ive seen him at some AAU tournaments and whatnot. I have played against his brother...He is a really good 3 point shooter also, but hes not anything like CJ.

There was a big deal he made about if he wasn't picked in the first round, he'd go to college and play for Texas. He got picked in the second, and still went to the NBA...which I dont' have a problem with, except for him making it plain as day what his intentions were, and then he did something else.

I agree that Pops will probably be a role player, but that is a lot better than some players will ever have.

Im going to go ahead and give props to Danny Granger even though he's already starting for the Pacers and everything. Im saying his name because one day he's going to be more valuable to the Pacers franchise then JO ever was IMO.

I'm sure you've all heard of this guy, but I bet a lot of people are forgetting about him due to the time he's missed with injury this year, but I'd like to mention Kyle Lowry. This kid is going to be a player. He's a little bulldog on defense, he's definitely a strong point guard, he's a heady player, he can penetrate. He's an all-out hustler, I loved him at Nova and I definitely liked what I saw from him earlier this season, before the injury.

I dont think he will be a star, but someone that I think will be able to step up in the future and do something, that alot of people are sleeping on is Kalenna Azuibuike of the Golden State Warriors. I saw him play a couple of times, and he looks to be a more than stellar basketball player in the making. He can shoot decently well, he has amazing athleticism, doesn't ruin the offensive flow when he is in. Defensively he plays tough defense, something alot of those Kentucky players have coming to the NBA. I am really high on this guy right now, and think we will see something from him in the future.
