    A few thoughts.

For a show that is supposed to be all "Tits and dragons", there sure have been a lot of dragons.

On that subject, seem like they spent all of the budget on dragons at the expense of decent writing.

The past six years there was always an episode or two that exceeded television standards, still waiting this season.

Perception is fascinating. I found many things in the episode laughable.

Kill the lone White walker and all the wrights die except for one hapless clown walker.

Send Gendry to run to the wall, alone, so he can send a raven to Dany, so that she can fly the length of a content on her dragon to save the day....okay suspend disbelief. So what are the walkers doing this whole time...ahhhh, yeah, standing there..until Sander tosses a rock and hits the brainless drone, that for some reason becomes aware that the ice has re formed..

Jon under water for half the show...

Sir Friendzone travels half way around the world to be cured by some miracle of script, only to return to Dany. What does he do upon arrival? Take a trip to the wall.

    I could go on..

In fact, every POV in this episode was silly.

You can definitely tell they don't have the books for material any more. The sad thing is idk if I'll even care to read them by the time they do come out.

I understand your point. After all these years, I will read the books. The reason the show was good to begin with was because of the books.

Yeah I definitely understand reading them after all this time, its just it has been like 7 years since the last one, and I've watched the entire show in between the books, my mind is completely muddled with what is in the book, and what is in the show.

well, the length of time between books gives you the opportunity to re read them all between release

I'm not sweating the timeline. They're trying to wrap up the series and I can't imagine it's easy.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I wouldn't be surprised if Littlefinger is already gone and the Littlefinger we saw in the latest episode is already Arya, which ends up revealed next episode. The discussion he had with Sansa also makes sense if it was Arya trying to determine what Sansa's concerns are.

Probably not, I guess, but it would be a neat reveal.

I have a bunch of books sitting on my shelf to read that I would probably read before going back to them tbh.
