Game Thread Mayweather vs McGregor fight thread!

Not me. The Don King days are all but over I think. Dana White doesn't F around. I don't think he would allow that and I think he is savvy enough to figure it out if it was happening behind his back. He knows how hard he has had to work to make MMA a viable sport. I don't think he would risk all that for a potential fraud exposure.

 

Just saying i don't know what fights you were watching. Ground and pound is something that happens but it's not more prevalent today.

Boxing plays into what mcgregor wants to do all the time in the UFC..standup. The problem is missed/defended shots will cost him points against mayweather. He's going to have to play it smart and pick his spots. It's fascinating to me. Everyone thinks they know what's going to happen but no one really does, on either side. The guy has literally never been in a match, so how could we? All just educated guesses at best. Fuck the haters. I can't wait.

 

Just because someone thinks McGregor is going to lose doesn't make them a hater. Get your mind right on that one.

I don't like either of these fucking ass hats and I both they both die simultaneously in the ring. That would be worth the price of admission.

 

And no boxing doesn't play into what McGregor wants to do all the time because he's never done it. He's simply stood up and swung at people. That's not boxing. He does not have the stamina to go past five rounds just like Roy Jones said.

 

These are literally all guesses. How can it be a fact when there's no proof either way? An MMA fight isn't an example.

 

Ok mayweather is an awful person, but what has mcgregor ever done for this nonsense? He knows how to sell a fight. Outside of business he comes off as a good man.

 

You can't just assume McGregor won't have the stamina, dude trains hard and I imagine he is in great fighting shape. MMA is a more tiring sport than boxing anyway.

 

One thing is for sure mcgregor has all these boxing purists shook and it's hilarious.

 

Well, for the most part... boxing sucks and has terrible judges. They just mad that MMA is taking eyes off of boxing in swaths

 

Yeah the actual sport is dying, but the fans, man, so defensive it's ridiculous, and this coming from someone that's been boxing for half his life. I can also appreciate MMA though, and it has its own "sweet science." I hear people say jiu jitsu is boring but it's honestly one of the most interesting parts of mma to me and I know nothing about it. I just love watching a mans soul get slowly taken from him by an anaconda.

Even if Pretty Boy Floyd was a Proud Blazer Fan, I'd root against him.

 

I know. Mma fights are 5 minute rounds. Mcgregor went 5 rounds against Nate Diaz in the 2nd fight. That's 25 minutes.

12 rounds at 3 minutes a piece for boxing is 36 minutes. The fighters get more rest because of having so many rounds.

Plus lets be honest. Wrestling zaps your energy more. Even though there wasnt much of that in the Diaz fight.

So does getting hit with smaller gloves.

I don't get the stamina argument guys.

Sure, he might not be able to go the distance, but anyone completely ruling him being able to do so is a little extreme.
