Reason? Both of this players are young and very good. Dwight is a power force down low. He reminds me of a Shaq type player in his prime. Expect the fact that Dwight Howard is faster, and faster. Also has a lot more hops than Shaq.Chris Bosh awesome player. He does everything great. He can hit the outside jump shot, drive it to the rack, fast, great all around player. They both are great players and will have great careers. I'm just wondering who is a better player do you guys think?

Id pick Howard...Boshs offensive game is alot better, but Howard is still so young..and it getting 17ppg with a average low-post game....thats pretty good. Howard will only improve and one day be very good offesivly downlow. And his defense is better and with his type of body, he'll be around alot longer than Bosh.

I would much rather have Chris Bosh not only because I am a Raptors fan either. Chris Bosh has really rare poise and leadership at a young age. Dwight Howard seems to joke around a lot while Chris Bosh is all business. Bosh is the model franchise player just like many people said Kevin Garnett was.

Bosh. Howard is very inconsistent, while Bosh has carried his team night in and night out all the way to a division championship. he is a better and more well rounded scorer than Howard, and as a rebounder or defender they aren't far apart. But Bosh's leadership, consistency and clutch ability is what gives him the nod.

Right now, I think Bosh is a more compete player, but I would rather have Howard on my team for the future. I think Bosh is a year or 2 older, and I think if Dwight can get another year in the pro's, you will see improvement on the offensive end. Dwight is a better defender, a better rebounder, and IMO, he has more potential, and the one thing that Bosh easily is better at right now is scoring. He has more range, and he is better on the block as well as of right now. BUT, despite Bosh being alot more talented on the offensive end, Dwight is still able to put up 17 a night on a better percentage than Bosh. I think once Dwight becomes more comfortable, you will see his scoring go up. I am just really high on Dwight, and he is one of my fav players. I would just rather have him for the future.

But right now, he has next to no post moves outside of the quick spin move, he has no jumpshot, and is not demanding enough as a scorer or leader. That, mroe than anything else, is why I feel Bosh is the better player, and will continue to be until Howard learns to achieve those qualities (even if his scoring and FG % does go up).

You need to work on both sides of the floor, and for you to say that he shoots a higher percentage is because he takes much less shots, and they are all around the basket. Bosh creates shots for himself, He drives to the bucket, he can play both high and low post as well. Dont count out Bosh because he is not as big, or is averaging 1 or 2 less rebounds per game. Bosh is a more well rounded player and will get even better in the future. Its not crazy to say Bosh can be a 25 and 13/14 player in 1 or 2 years, he is already hovering around 23/11.

Offensively, Bosh is obviously more skilled and versatile than Howard. Howard likes to bang in the paint more, and is very quick and strong, but he's got no jumper like Bosh does, and Bosh can take it in from the outside. He is amazing at drawing fouls with his quickness. Offensively, Bosh gets the nod, easily in my opinion.Defensively, Bosh is good at taking charges, but an average all around defender. Howard is a freak athlete, and a decent defender and shot blocker. I'd pick Bosh over Howard if we are talking this season....just cause of his offense. On a good team, Howard would not be the first option.

I would take Howard both now, and in the future. Howard can control the boards better than Bosh can, as well as plays better defense. You can say Howard isn't much better all you want, but you can form a defense around Howard alot more easily than you can form one around Bosh. He controls the paint better, controls the boards better, and that is why I would take him over Bosh both this year, and for the future.

Please know what you're talking about. Bosh does not have the prescence to alter shots like Dwight Howard can. Sure Bosh can go out to the perimeter but how valuable really is that, he can not catch some of the faster PF's. (The Boris Diaw's of the NBA.) I'd much rather have that post prescence than Chris Bosh being able to leave the perimeter. BTW, Howards game has alot more evolving to do. By the time both these players careers are over, Howard will be known as the much better rebounder/shot blocker.

So in more rebounding oppurtunities Bosh is still putting up nearly two less rebounds per game.As for the defense, you can try to use that blocks per game, which Howard still has more of. Howard is a better shot blocking presence, a better shot alterer, a better man to man defensive player and a more dominant defensive player. Guards worry alot more coming through the paint on Howard than they do on Bosh, and alter their shots alot more on Howard causing them to miss alot more on Howard and the Magic than they do on Bosh and the Raptors. Howard is also better at guarding his man in the low post than Bosh is, which doesn't always have to do with quickness. That just has to do with a better defensive player, which Howard is easily.

Chris Bosh vs. Dwight HowardOffenseThe Raptors get up about 80 shots per game, the Magic get up about 74. So, while the Magic are undoubtedly a slower paced and more possession oriented team than Toronto, the difference is not so high as to mislead statistics in substantial form. That being said, Bosh and Howard are apples and oranges offensively. Bosh has become a go-to guy at this point. He's the only Raptor allowed to play one-on-one because he does it very well. We're looking at 23 PPG of 50% shooting. Bosh will generally receive the ball 8 - 12 feet from the net, where he will quickly look to face up generally slower defenders. From here, Bosh has incredible moves for a post player. He can 'jab at you, and shoot the jumper.' He has perfected the 'fake one way, spin the other and hit the fadeaway move.' He can 'fake, and explode the other way', generally leaving defenders defenseless because of his left hand (Charlie Rosen insigtfully stated that, if Bosh was right handed, he might average 5 less PPG).Basically, from a facing up position Bosh has as good a fundamental repertoire as any player in the NBA. Back to the basket, he is very limited. You've got the 'turnaround jumper', and while the ability to 'drop step into the lane and shoot a hookshot' is there, it's not a major part of Bosh's game. Bosh has frightfully consistent range from inside 20 feet.Weaknesses?Bosh relys too much on facing defenders up. If he would use those lanky arms more in the post, we could be seeing even more efficient points. Look at Kevin Garnett. KG is notorious for being able to take one ginormous step into the lane off a post up, and actually throw the ball in a downward motion towards the net due to length. Now, Dwight Howard is a totally different breed than Bosh. He's strong, very strong, and where Bosh is able to get off a jumper in any way possible and have a good time making them, Howard has yet to grasp this. While Howard can indeed stroke it when open, the fadeaways, the pull-ups, they're just not there like they are with Bosh.Howard though, is able to get to the hoop by facing up and exploding like few, if any, other post players in the NBA. One thing I've noticed is that the Magic are really terrible at getting Howard the ball. Last night, there must have been a dozen occasions where the Magic waited to pass Howard the ball until he was 15 feet from the net, where, as stated above, he really can't do anything.Charley Rosen had a great article on Howard, where he examined him for an entire game. Upon conclusion, Rosen saw that when Howard did get the ball, his back-to-the-basket game was mediocre at best and his face up game was basically exploding to the net off a jab step or sweep. Many of Howard's points come close to the net, and off basic moves. Few come off skillful flamboyance. In comparison to Bosh, Howard's offensive skill falters. However, if basketball longevity has taught me anything, it's that players should not be judged on what the can't do, rather on what they can do. Because of Howard's strength, he gets you 18 PPG on limited but close range post position, in the vein of an amplified Big Z. Bosh on the other hand, because of his freilty, has to create for himself, thus the expanded offensive game.DefenseNow, most will not argue in saying Howard is the better defensive player. He averages about .6 more blocks a game than Bosh, playing for a more possession oriented team.In terms of help defense, Howard is superior. Bosh is a good help defender, but he barely averages over 1 BPG. Howard is the type of player that lurks, something that can be bad, can be good. He's picked up a certain awareness, and can jump so quickly that he tips balls more than he swats them.Bosh, as I will elaborate on, doesn't lurk as much. This means that he is generally late on rotations. And why doesn't he lurk you ask? Chris Bosh is the type of post player that doesn't want his man to get the ball. He tries really hard to get all over his man, deny catching of a ball. It's because of this that alot of times, Bosh will be tired when his man gets the ball or his man might get the ball in a really good position. Bosh is fronting, going over the side, so if by chance his man gets the ball, Bosh is in trouble.Howard on the other hand, doesn't really try and stop his man from getting the ball. He lets his man get the ball, and then, due to superior strength, can generally get away with lackluster effort. Howard, like many young players, doesn't take physicality all that well, which is why last night, despite Jermaine O' Neal being in horrid shape and playing terribly, he was able to lean in an get very good close shot attempts. Watching the game, in a span of 5 minutes O'Neal got 4 close chip-ins on Howard he makes 99% of the time. Now, some will say - "But Howard rejected O'Neal many times, and does that to many other players!" That's just what I'm getting at. Because of his size, strength, and inhuman jumping ability, Howard can get away with not trying too hard because people bounce off him. If they try and overpower him, it's over. I've seen Tim Duncan get swatted by Howard, but equally, I've seen Tim Duncan orchestrate a simple jab and lean in and get the two.ReboundingHoward averages about a 1.5 + RPG over Bosh, this in two less minutes. I look at it, and the Magic and Raptors both force an almost equal amount of misses per game. The Raptors force 43 and the Magic force 42. So, you factor in the fact that Howard is almost always in rebounding position because of Orlando's slow paced game and that Bosh is always on the run from a more fast paced game, and you factor in the minutes differential, and basically, both are pretty equal rebounders. With offensive rebounding, Toronto and Orlando both shoot almost equal percentage, with Toronto getting more shots thus giving Chris Bosh more opportunities to get rebounds. From this standpoint, Bosh is a weaker offensive rebounder. The KMart Point System v.1Alright boys, cut me some slack, I've decided to attempt a point system. Each skill I deem worthy will receive a grade F - A, then systematically refer to percentage as high schools or colleges do. From there, I'll weigh each skill with a point system according to position. Whoever, gets the highest grade is the winner! (Yes, I'm bored)BoshOffensive Contribution: A (95%) Offensive Repertoire: A- (92%)Offensive Value to Team: A+ (100%)Defensive Contribution: A- (92%)Defensive Repertoire: B (85%)Defensive Value to Team: A- (92%)Basketball IQ: A- (92%)Basketball Potential: A+ (98%)Average: 93.125% - All Star player on the brink of elite.HowardOffensive Contribution: A- (92%) Offensive Repertoire: B (85%)Offensive Value to Team: A+ (98%)Defensive Contribution: A (95%)Defensive Repertoire: B+ (88%)Defensive Value to Team: A+ (98%)Basketball IQ: B+ (88%)Basketball Potential: A+ (100%)Average: 93% - All Star player on the brink of elite. The stats basically sum up my thoughts. Howard is a more valuable defensive player to his individual team, whereas Bosh is a more valuable offensive player to his team. Both have potential, but Howard has a little more. With that factored in, Howard is a smudge behind Bosh, with it factored out, Howard is still just a little bit behind Bosh. I inserted defensive and offensive rebounding into respective categories of offense and defense. Many will probably disagree with me, but hopefully this post was fun to read and my point system ended up being reflective of my opinions (I think it was).

His offensive game isnt as developed as it will be in a few years, and he is scoring right now mainly off of athleticisim and strength. Once he becomes more confident in his low post game, and developes more moves (which he will do, no doubt in my mind), he will be scoring over 22 ppg. Bosh is a better scorer, Dwight is a better rebounder and a better defender....And he also has more room to improve considering his offensive game isnt that developed.

Who ever picked Bosh got to be stupid. Dwight Howard is the next BIG THING. He is the next great center that will be a champion/MVP of the league. The guy is still developing and he's going to be a monster in the future. By the way, did yall see Magic/Pacers game last night? If you didnt watch the highlights...
