Yeah, it's been impressive what he's been able to do recruiting, but will it translate on the field. The only team I am worried about is USC, especially if Darnald proves to be the real deal and not a one year wonder.
USC is gonna be good, I believe they are the team to beat in the PAC. UW lost a lot of studs to the draft so they will still be good but there will be a learning curve, kinda similar to what Oregon went through from 2014 to 2015, obviously UW is better prepared due to far better coaching though.
Well, if Leavitt can right the ship defensively and Taggart can develop Herbert further, I don't think 8-9 wins is too crazy a possibility/goal. I still think 6 wins is about where we are at before watching us play a down.
I think UO was worse last year than they should have been. I don't think the hole is as deep as some would believe after last year.
One would think with better coaching we should have beaten Nebraska, Colorado, and OSU. But like I said, until the defense can prove to make stops or hell even stop a runningback doing a wheel route, I will remain cynical.
Oregon State used a Crying Jordan playcall sign and immediately fumbled https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2017/8/26/16209512/oregon-state-crying-jordan-play
The Beavers lose every year to some no name team. How embarassing for Beaver fans. You guys deserve a medal for sticking with this team.
Beavs played about how I thought they would the first couple quarters. CSU is supposed to be a pretty good team. Still embarassing looking at the final score and knowing they are in a shit conference. Not too worried. If we lose to portland state, the panic button will need to be hit.
...same, if the Vikings stroll down to Reser and stomp out a victory then the Beavs are definitely entering doormat status again (now and for the foreseeable future)
I like Oregon State coaches....they just can't recruit depth...still cheer em on! Go Beavs! Mike Riley is one of the nicest guys around....has a Terry Stotts calm temperament....I hope the Beavs do well...I like Anderson...he's a passionate coach...really seems to have some fire in him
