We don't NEED to kick Pat to the curb to sign another player. After waiving and stretching Nicholson, our roster is now at 13 guaranteed contracts + one non-guaranteed (Pat). We have one roster spot available currently and could have two if we cut Pat loose. BNM
my first post said that I like him and his motor.....if he's not extended, there are better players unsigned
I'll probably get some heat for this but I'm actually a big fan of Pat. Some have said that his defense is garbage, but I disagree. I damn near guarantee that he yells "Helpside!" more than anyone else on our roster. Keep him. Add another defender too.
Not so bold prediction: They will be keeping Pat.... He's cheap, and they've always liked him. Good teammate. Good Cheerleader. Good practice player who knows the system. Not out of the question that he could join the rotation in case of injury.
Stotts is a really player friendly coach.....if PC can match Crabbe's production off the bench or even surpass it...we're ok. He's a better defender than Crabbe already from what I've seen and he doesn't take possessions off....big plus...good rebounder for his size...if he can just shoot a higher percentage he'll be a keeper.
What's the big deal? He's an inexpensive backup 2 guard who knows Stott's system, can hit the three and only has one year left on his contract. Smart move, if true.
He "can" hit the three, but "doesn't" and looked outclassed in SUMMER LEAGUE. (Until he got injured and the team immediately got miles better.)
Oh, bull shit. Summer-fricking-league? You mean where the Blazers experimented on playing him at PG for a couple of games, which didn't work, and then he got injured and didn't play anymore? Yeah, let's use that as a measuring stick.
