I did want to keep him. Loved his game. I know I'm one of the few. Just was saying that if he WAS leaving, it would have been good to get something in exchange. Seems like a lot of guys recently have worked with their teams to get something in return for their old squads.

He probably knew he was leaving. We didn't.

I honestly thought he was coming back.
As soon as we lost that last game in Memphis and we were getting on the bus to head back to the hotel, one of the guys yelled, "What the fuck is LA doing?" Looked up and he had a private car there taking him away. We didn't know at the time he had chartered that plane for himself to go back to PDX and not going back with us the next morning.

You could telol it pissed everybody off. Knew he was as good as gone.

I know he got tons of hate on here, but I loved what he did for us. Miss his low post game.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Utah didn't receive anything for Hayward. Boston had to trade away a player to make room, but they traded Avery Bradley to Detroit, not Utah. Atlanta also didn't get anything for Paul Millsap. Both guys were just signed as free agents, as Aldridge was.

I liked his game for the brief time he was LaMonster and playing around the basket. Would have liked to see more inside-outside and less outside-farther outside from him the last couple of years.

The last part of your post is really the crux of the bisquit and the source of most of the bad blood. He showed no loyalty whatsoever to fans or teammates in leaving the franchise hanging out to dry with nothing, when he new damn well he wasn't coming back. I can only speculate that he didn't want to weaken whatever team he went to by facilitating the Blazers receiving compensation. While that's a rational decision for his best personal interest I suppose, it sucked for us.

I think UCD is confused because you dropped your internet persona. He didn't realize you were being John, not HCP.

There was one and only one point where Neil could have reasonably dealt LA, and that was the summer of 2013, with us coming off a lottery season, Dame having just won ROY, and LA having two years left on his deal. Once we started that next season out gangbusters, he really had no choice but to be all in with LA through the rest of his deal.

It's a known fact that Ainge loves to eat at Chipotle. Maybe one of those rats they have crapped in his Sofrita bowl.

I will wait on Zach collins and how he turns out but Swanigan seems like a sleeper. Drafted well there but once again, gonna have to see if Zach Collins turns into a good role player some day. Other than that I mean he has done pretty well. He went after whiteside last year, went after PG and Melo this year so far, not much you can do when Melo doesn't wanna be here, Whiteside didn't sign here, and pritchard wanted nothing to do with our offer. The problems he has had is keeping Meyers, Allen Crabbe contract which he somewhat redeemed himself but not really because we ended up dumping an asset for nothing because of the contract and that turner contract is still pretty gross. So really the worst he has done was last summer.

My answer would be safe is the wrong word.....I think he's playing within his ways and means and being pretty smart about it. He's no Trader Bob...that's for sure

Both. Outside of our big three everyone is replaceable, especially when you have the opportunity to land a superstar, even a rental. That was an obvious move. KP was an obvious idiot as well.
