Trump names climate science denier to run NASA Republican Congressman had demanded Obama apologize for funding climate change research In a Friday night news dump, the White House announced that President Donald Trump Plans to nominate Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK), a climate science denier to be administrator of NASA. Bridenstine is a politician without any scientific credentials, unlike previous NASA chiefs, and for that reason his nomination has already been criticized by both Florida’s senators Marco Rubio (R) and Bill Nelson (D), Politico reports. Rubio said, “I just think [his nomination] could be devastating for the space program.” NASA scientists have led the way in documenting the scientific reality of climate change. But in 2013, Bridenstine not only gave a speech on the House floor filled with standard denier talking points, he actually ended his remarks with a demand that President Obama apologize for funding research into climate science. https://thinkprogress.org/trump-names-climate-science-denier-to-run-nasa-c9a46a6f4a52/
So the dog posts a strawman. Good one! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...ck-climate-change_us_59ae5ea8e4b0b5e531007b3a Bridenstine expressed his skepticism about the human factor in climate change during a 2016 interview with Aerospace America magazine. The climate “has always changed,” he said. “There were periods of time long before the internal combustion engine when the Earth was much warmer than it is today.”
They're linked. I have never seen a summer this hot. We haven't had rain in months. Climate change is directly responsible for this.
So because someone starts a fire, or even lightning starts a fire, means ckimate change? While there may be climate change, I can't see how a forest fire indicates that?
Like they kept the Harvey thread about Hurricanes? Your own mod said the stupid ass Trump talk was fine
No AC in my apt. Top floor. In Gresham. Didn't have a choice but to shut all windows last night. I was getting a headache from all the smoke. It was like there was a campfire right outside my window and my fan was just blowing it in. It's so ugly out here. Ugh.
Morons. Complete morons. http://www.wweek.com/news/2017/09/0...nagers-were-tossing-firecrackers-off-a-cliff/
This morning in my car in the driveway looking thru my sunroof. Shit there are "ash drifts" on our street. Not a ton obviously, but it was so crazy to see.
seriously, yesterday took a page from the old cowboy movies and saved my lungs around the property...they work..
My sister just evacuated and is evacuating again. They went from Cascade Locks to North Bonneville. Not a smart move. The fire jumped across at Archer mountain and now they have fires East and West of them. I JUST got off the phone with my brother telling him to leave North Bonneville and head East to Stevenson/Carson/Home Valley. We have family there. The fire is moving west but if it jumps across at the Bridge of the Gods who knows what'll happen.
Two aunts, some cousins. My in-laws grew up in Corbett, so they know half the community. Really disturbing to think of that area in peril like this.
