    Radio (info is king)
Katana (weapon that doesn't run out)
Backpack (will be scouring the world for stuff, and I'll have a place to put it)
Flashlight (don't want to be screwed just because it turned night).

Motorcycle and chain saw run out of gas, which will be a scarce resource.
If body armor is useful, you are screwed already.
AK and shotguns run out of bullets which would be extremely difficult to replace.
I like the crossbow, but not sure it'll stop zombies.
Tent, matches, radio, first aid kit, water purifier are useful, but I should be able to find some of these via looting/recovering from victims and their houses.
VERY tempted by the boat. I could definitely see a Boat/Xbow/Waterfilter/Something else set. Food is concern though, maybe pickup a german shepherd?

I watch Walking Dead and see them sleep in tons of bad places. Boat, you anchor out at night, zombies don't swim much it seems.

Actually, the zombies abilities matter a great deal

I haven't watched Walking Dead, but it seems to me that the first priorities are
    1) getting supplies and food, and
    2) assessing zombie abilities, preferences, strengths, and weaknesses.

If these are Game of Thrones zombies, I'm heading south!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as you posted. Kind of depends on the zombies..I suppose the basic attributes would be that they do not breath. So even if they do not swim, a guy would have to make sure they can not climb an anchor chain, some sort of zombie style rat guard.

Think the boat is a good idea. Most stuff would be easy to get for a while. The main thing would be the ability to protect yourself long enough to collect what you need.

Silenced Hand gun. Would me a must. If you had to get by one or two with out attracting other Zombies.

Like tr Katana and the AK.

I was just picking from the choices. Now, in real life I'd be taking over a costco so I'd need way more guns.

First sign of zombies one night I'm heading to work to get my welder and then costco to weld all the doors shut after I murder the first wave of employees that show up.

Katana would dull very quickly, I would suspect.

An axe is still very effective, even when dull.

Better bring some friends, lol. I would think that places like that are going to be high priority targets for gangs and looters.

Real life, I would be checking out of the way military bases. Think I would look where others are less likely, like a CG base. They have guns and supplies as well as small fast response cutters to other boats that can be ran with a limited crew.

    AK47
    Silenced Pistol
    Shotgun
    First Aid

Please drop your backpack and Sword and run in the other direction!

    Realistically though

AK47 - Might sub the silenced pistol or xbow for quiet hunting.

Actual Question: Would a crossbow "kill" a zombie? I know they're powerful, but I'm not sure zombies are vulnerable to piercing weapons.

For me, that's the point. You don't get to know until after you buy! I also assume I'm not at home so I can't just grab my stuff.

Also, I think fast moving zombies are bullshit. Actually, zombies are bullshit. If you're missing ligaments/tendons/muscles/bones in your legs, you physically can't walk. So, can't take things too seriously.

    It's important Wiz!

If they're fast, blunt weapons aren't going to be much use to you because they'll just overwhelm you.

    But if they're slow....
