<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Yi Jianlian, who has been compared to Kevin Garnett by various scoutsSince Yi Jianlian can score out of the paint, his style of play is widely compared to that of Kevin Garnett. His outstanding athleticism allows him to finish above the rim with relative ease and consistency.</div>LinkWhat do you have to say about this?
If he played college basketball I could get a much better read on him, all I've seen of him is from video clips and some information from scouts/insiders. Obviously a great athlete, especially for a 7'0" Asian player. His legs are loose, not stiff at all, good finishing inside, can fly, can shoot the ball...I really wish I could watch this guy play more, he could be a guy in a few years where we go, 'jesus christ he should have been the 3rd pick', or just the opposite. I'm really wanting to see how he does in team workouts over the summer, thats going to be huge for where he goes in the draft. If he blows teams away we could be talking about Jianlian going possibly ahead of Joakim Noah...etc...He's this draft's big question mark in the lottery. Although my best bet is, teams are going to go for the American player over him if they are close enough on draft boards because he's more of a risk.

He's not afraid to take 3's, as he can make long jumpers, Jianlian's athleticism can't be anymore better than Dray's, except that fact that Jianlian can fly. Andray's legs are definitely not stiff, and from watching tonight's game against the Hornets, he can definitely finish inside. Do me a favor, watch the CBA finals on NBATV to get a good look at Jianlian and if you agree that he could be the next KG, I'll make a bet with you, only if the following happens:-Andray's contract is up during this offseason, and if he decides to leave for a sub-.500 team are worse, I'll bet you that Andray will have better stats than Jianlian.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BrewCityBuck @ Mar 17 2007, 09:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Ugh...what does Andray Blatche have to do with anything...I'm not having that debate.</div>If you think Jianlian will be the next KG or closer than Dray will be, I want to settle it and having this bet will work out perfect.
It's apparent that you tricked me into this...I have my opinion on Blatche, I'm not backing down on it, I'm done talking about it.

Andray Blatche = WTF is he doing in this? And wtf is he doing being compared to KG?Anyway, I can't wait to see Jianlian in the league. I don't know much about him and I want to see if the hype about him is true.
If you're that confident that Blatche won't be the next KG, or a better comparison than Jianlian is, then you would take this bet, right?
Ming. If Andray Blatche ever becomes the next Kevin Garnett, I will cut off my ball sack. There is no way, we've already discussed this nonsense. Give it a rest. About Yi, I really have not seen him play in an actual game, so I couldn't really tell you.

Yi Jianlian (China, Forward)He?s very long and athletic, and is very mobile for a 7 footer. He has a very soft touch, good shooting mechanics, and good shooting range. His ball handling skills are great for his size. Runs the floor very well. He must add weight and get stronger, he must improve defensively, and he must develop some kind of go-to move or two in the post. We are also not 100% certain what will be his primary position in the NBA (small forward or power forward), but he has boatloads of potential. That size mixed with those natural skills and athleticism will turn out to be at least something decent. Will he be more than decent? Only time will tell, but most people associated with him think that he will be a good player in this league.</div>LinkTell me how you were able to give a full scouting report on this player, if you haven't seen him play in an actual game?

Ming, Andray Blatche isnt the next Kevin Garnett....That is one of the most biased things that I have ever heard...Andray Blatche doesn't even play that much for a team who lacks talent inside. The only comparison of these two guys is that they are both athletic, black, and long arms.

Just because he's chinese doesn't mean he's gonna be good..He hasn't proven himself against decent competitionlike the chinese league's any good lol

All of China's talent leads the country every year in the Asia basketball championships and wins every time, without Yao. It's been going on this way for a while, basketball has been popular and growing in China as Lacrosse in USA. With Yi Jianlian entering the draft being compared to the next KG, it's just going to make the game of basketball more exciting in China, making the CBA even more popular to watch. But it doesn't matter, I think Blatche is a better comparison of KG than Jianlian is.

You and your homeristic qualities are all a big joke. The fact of the matter is that if Andre Blatche was any good, he would be playing more than he is, and he would be averaging more than like 5 points per game. He isnt anything more than an athletic black guy with long arms. He is never going to be a guy to get 20 point in a game, and he sure as hell is never going to be a Kevin Garnett. Grow up and stop being biased. Its f*cking annoying
