Probably no country in the world has better hurricane preparedness than Cuba. Then don't say evacuate, they send buses and trucks for household goods, set up shelters for people and pets, shut off power, etc. But will still take a pounding. Far worse are going to be very poor countries, especially Haiti, where they do nothing for the population.
My dad has told me stories about the corrugated tin roofing sheets they use are pretty much flying saw blades in storms.
Hearing airlines are jacking up the price of tickets as people begin to evacuate florida. Tickets have gone from around $180 for a one way ticket up to as far as $2500. Ridiculous.
Rush Limbaugh has announced hurricanes aren't real, but merely a liberal hoax to manuever the money machine and empty store shelves of products.
Never fear. The Democrats have a tax bill ready to hit corporations and the top one percent in order to end hurricanes forever. If they up it to the top two percent, they can end wild fires too.
So a good friend of mine who lives in NYC saved up and surprised his wife. They never had a honeymoon 10 years ago so he took her this week, to of all places Key West,FL As soon as they landed they closed the airport and there are NO rental cars. They are pretty much trapped down there. Following his updates on Facebook, and it's brutal. They are freaked out. Everybody has left, and no stores are open. Other friends of mine are in Orlando and Miami and they have evacuated, but I'm just praying my guy and his wife make it thru this.
I bet the Clinton Foundation is salivating at all the money they can steal from these poor countries hit by the Hurricane.
As someone who is deathly scared of airplanes, this was extremely tense to follow https://twitter.com/i/moments/905487561182908416
Because in our current culture "facts" are whatever someone wants them to be, without regard for, you know, facts.
