Agreed. I watched 10 minutes of the game between his team and Zion Williamson's and it was just too painful to go any further.
I have no one on ignore. Your posts are just a blip on the radar of this forum. Only noticeable when they become absolutely ridiculous!
LaMelo going to China would be interesting. The piece, though, is that Guangzhou's coach, I'm sure, doesn't give a **** who Lavar Ball is. IIRC (and it's been awhile), Yao dumped Nike to make reebok popular, the Starbury's have been selling, and Shanghai's probably not going to pick him up unless they do some kind of exclusivity deal. Which, if Lavar was smart, he'd do (kind of like how Steph Curry is with UnderArmour b/c UA treated then-scrub Kent Bazemore like a king and Steph noticed). Right now the Chinese Basketball Association has a deal with Li Ning to supply shoes to the whole league, to the point where a team gets T'd up if a player wears a different shoe. He teams with the CBA/Li Ning in some kind of marketing deal and the Zhou Qis and Guo Ailuns of the world now have to break in Nikes against an entire league. I don't know that Lavar is savvy enough to pull it off (and he for damn sure isn't a cosmopolitan international businessman), but it's an interesting move.
Can you imagine the elder Ball walking into a meeting with Asian businessmen acting the way he does? Holy shit.
No, that's the point. Phil Knight even acts and dresses like a grown-ass man when he deals with the Macao folks.
Man I read during the China Olympics that at the time there were more people in China that casually played hoops in the parks or rec centers, then there are people in the US! Thats fucking nuts. Not that China is an "untapped market" by any means, but if you get in there, you are set! That kid playing in China and his pops getting him sponsors, he will make a killing.
Let me be clear, the first time I watched Lonzo in college I was sold on his ability. I came here in December and posted it. So I am not a hater of the Ball family. But this LaMelo hype is the most ridiculous thing I have even seen. I guess he could end up being good but nothing from his vidoes suggests he will be a pro. Not yet anyways. From what I have seen he shoots mostly set shots. Until I see him do something special I am not impressed. He still has two more years of HS so he could turn out to be great, but Lonzo's success has no bearing on how well LaMelo will turn out. By the time the Ball Hype was in full force Lonzo was already good. My gut says all this hype about Lamelo.....will very much hurt him at such a young age. He ain't no Lebron.
You know what BfW...... I don't think you've ever typed FAMS on here. I'm sure you say it while hanging with FAMS and friends though!
Ya, they stole the design off those for sure. And the first ones that came out were basically Kobes with a different twist.
