Lmao, wtf is this. Remember this guy said he knew more than everyone on the board??? Yet, when CJ goes out apparently we should have Goodwin play PG and Dame play SG... Leonard ahead of Aminu, Davis, and Vonleh in the rotation? Lmao.
In terms of minutes at each position, this is what I'd do: Lillard (36) / McCollum (12) McCollum (24) / Turner (24) Aminu (15) / Harkless (31) / Turner (2) Swanigan (12) / Aminu (12) / Vonleh (13) / Davis (11) Nurkic (33) / Collins (12) / Davis (3) Lillard & McCollum 36min Nurkic 33min Harkless 31min Aminu 27min Turner 26min Davis 14min Vonleh 13min Collins & Swanigan 12min Aminu starts at SF because he's best as a SF with Lillard and McCollum in the backcourt. It splits up his minutes. 12 of his 15 SF minutes comes within the first 6 minutes of each half when Lillard and McCollum are both playing. Swanigan starts at PF to give Lillard and McCollum and pick and pop threat to get going quickly. I thought about cohesiveness of the 5 players on the court as well as when the best time for players to take a break is (Ex. For the 2nd half, Nurk plays the first 8 minutes, sits for 4min+quarter break, plays 4min, sits for 2min, then plays the final 6min). 12:00-6:00min Dame / CJ / Aminu / Biggie / Nurkic 6:00-3:00 Dame / Turner / Harkless / Vonleh / Davis 3:00-END 1Q Dame / Turner / Harkless / Davis / Collins 2Q 12:00-9:00 CJ / Turner / Harkless / Aminu / Collins 9:00-6:00 CJ / Turner / Harkless / Vonleh / Nurkic 6:00-3:00 Dame / CJ / Aminu / Vonleh / Nurkic 3:00-END 2Q Dame / CJ / Harkless / Aminu / Nurkic 3Q 12:00-8:00min Dame / CJ / Aminu / Biggie / Nurk 8:00-6:00 Dame / Turner / Aminu / Biggie / Nurk 6:00-4:00 Dame / Turner / Harkless / Davis / Nurk 4:00-END 3Q CJ / Turner / Harkless / Davis / Collins 4Q 12:00-10:00 CJ / Turner / Harkless / Davis / Nurkic 10:00-8:00 Dame / CJ / Turner / Vonleh / Nurk 8:00-6:00 Dame / CJ / Harkless / Vonleh / Collins 6:00-4:00 Dame / Turner / Harkless / Aminu / Nurkic 4:00-END of GAME Dame / CJ / Harkless / Aminu / Nurkic
Who you talking to here? I don't think anyone has said we have too many good players. If anyone ever said that, it was probably you.
It's not that we have too many good players, it's that we have too many average role players. Consolidating two average big men (Ex. Davis and Aminu) for a good guard to replace Crabbe would improve us talent wise as well as balance our lineup between bigs and guards.
PG: Lillard\CJ\Napier SG: CJ\ET\Patty C\Goodwin SF: Harkless\Aminu\Layman PF: Vonleh\Caleb\Aminu\Meyers C: Nurkic\Davis\collins\Caleb\Vonleh
Man, I struggle to come up with a reason to play Vonleh this year. Is he really a guy that you look to re-sign next year after investing two first round picks on bigs? If Biggie and Zach show any signs of being able contributors this year, Vonleh is injury insurance only imo. If he shows through camp and preseason that he's the clear best fit alongside Nurk in the starting lineup, I guess I'd be ok with it--I just hope the staff doesn't fall in love with small sample sizes again and makes it an open competition for that starting 4 spot.
Someone said we need a consolidation trade. Too many players need minutes, this poster said. I never understand that talk. Unless you're getting Pippem in the trade.
Ahh. Still need 14-15 players though. Also, remember how bad we were without Aminu last year? We aren't trading him. Not even for Melo.
Aiight here's my guess on what Olshey is planning with NY if Anthony gives the OK. To Portland: Carmelo Anthony Kyle O'Quinn Courtney Lee (this is a separate trade using our trade exception we got for Crabbe) To New York: Mo Harkless Meyers Leonard Noah Vonleh Ed Davis Pat Connaughton Protected first New York gets best case scenario at this point for Melo. Young pieces and a pick. It's inevitable that they'll have to take on a shitty contract for Anthony, so relatively speaking Leonard isn't the worst option. Trading Lee makes sense for New York. Acquiring Lee makes sense for us. KOQ intrigues me but we can do the trade without him and Davis, whatever. Rotation: Dame CJ Anthony Swanigan (wouldn't count out Collins though) Nurkic Second unit: CJ Lee Turner Aminu O'Quinn 10th man in rotation: Collins Bang bang.
I just want the season to start. im even more bored than bored. I bet no one could tell though, lol. Weve discussed sooooo much of everything, I want some answers!!!
The thing with Collins vs Swanigan is that you can reasonably expect Collins to be a non liability defensively. As good as Biggie looked in summer league, I still think he's most likely inefficient offensively and bad defensively next year.
I've said it before, summer league means NOTHING, when it comes to the regular season. Hope and wish all you want. Noah will get the PT, the two rooks will take awhile to adjust if they do at all. VonLeh has proven he can thrive next to Nurk in the starting 5 when it counts.
