Ive only learned one thing from this thread.

Im a rookie and suck at starting drama.

Sly has this down. I'm an idiot for thinking I have to put on some victim character.
All I need to do is post links to political articles.

Sly, the master, I am your young padawan from here on out. Please teach me the ways to successful clickbait trollposts that get everyone up in arms.

    symbolism

    [sim-buh-liz-uh m]

    See more synonyms on Thesaurus.com
    noun
    1.
the practice of representing things by symbols, or of investing things with a symbolic meaning or character.
    2.
a set or system of symbols.
    3.
    symbolic meaning or character.
    4.
the principles and practice of symbolists in art or literature.
    5.
(initial capital letter) a movement of the late 19th century in French art and literature.
    Compare symbolist (defs 3b, 4b).
    6.
the use of any of certain special figures or marks of identification to signify a religious message or divine being, as the cross for Christ and the Christian faith.

This is what it really comes down to.
Symbolism. What does this flag represent?
    What does this quote represent?
    What does this address represent?

Symbolism cna hold multiple definitions based on the viewer/interpreter.

This symbolism wll usually be a direct reflection of one's history and experiences.

Meaning, I have never been introduced to PEPE the MEME until I read this thread and article.

So for some, yes, the meme may not represent, what you know or remember of the meme.

However, you are not the only one on this planet and not everyone knows what you do and you know know everything others know.

So with that said, for me, not ever knowing who PEPE was, wouldn't it be logical for me to associate the PEPE MEME with white supremacy, merely because some of them are now using it?

Times and symbolisms can change. It doesn't make their current stance as a symbol any less valid, because it used to symbolize something else.

The word Gay was used to define a joyous feeling. Feeling happy and well to do.

Now it is associated with a sexual gender preference.

Are you going to tell those who support homosexuality that they shouldn't be offended by being called gay?

I ask for @dviss1 to provide an input on this example.

When I grew up, it became wrong, or not PR to call Black men Black. The term was African American. Then that kind of faded again and Black seems to be accepted.

I don't know what is truly right, but what the majority says they believe the correct term(symbol) is, I will go with it.

My point is that things and symbols change. Just because you see PEPE as harmless doesn't mean that there is not a real movement to use the MEME as an underlying conversation to discuss alterior motives to help ones extremism come to the forefront.

And lastly, I would have ho9ped you would have learned a lesson from me over the last week or two.
Don't take this place, or these people seriously.
How do you know, some people aren't just saying things knowing it gets at you, regardless of whether they believe it or not?

This is the playground and we shall play. ;)

    Here is your first challenge.

    https://in.news.yahoo.com/video-canadian-sikh-politician-jagmeet-155639657.html

You could take this in a couple of different directions. I wouldn't play it straight, the trick is to get as many people as possible to watch the video. You can try using an outrageous thread title, "Fake muslim refuses to allow white woman to speak at political rally." or "Muslim looking candidate refuses to acknowledge sharia law." or "Trump deports Nazis to Canada."

My counter point to that is, this has existed in internet and meme culture for years now. You don't see white supremacists running around with this frog on them. It's not what you think it is. It's only a select few and the meme is in a different variation. Just because a few people might up shown up at rallies with this frog depicted as a nazi or whatever doesn't make it it's symbol. This meme is still largely used by just regular people for humorous occasions and everybody mostly understands that it's just a meme, pretty much nobody sees it as a symbol of hatred or whatever unless you are far left and just wanna be dumb about it. People like to throw fits over nothing. I get it. I tripped earlier. Shouldn't have. I just don't appreciate on the forum constantly being told I am defending alt right by the same people. I am not. I am nor right or left. I dislike the political party system, I think it does nothing but tear people apart. It just seems to be real popular these days to label people shit. "oh you are alt right, you are a nazi, a racist, fascist". People are just slinging these words around and they mean nothing anymore. To me, it's a frog meme, I grew up in this internet meme culture. It's not a symbol. I would advise you do more research on this meme and kekistan, 4chan. There are dark sides to everything but most of it is just anti PC and super dark humor mixed in with your occasional internet racists. None of it is alt right. Nobody wants to do their research though, they would rather link an article that tells me what these words mean and what they are associated with. Too many let the media dictate their thoughts. I also get called a trump supporter no matter how many times I have said I don't agree with his shit and that he is an idiot. I get called it because I don't sit and call him a fascist or a racist. I instead ask "hey, what makes him a fascist" or a racist? because I don't see it". Doesn't mean I stand for trump, I question things and one thing that is in trouble in this society today is free speech, the watering down of words that once meant something. I will tell you though, do your research, the majority of people think and know that pepe is just a meme, no symbol. The media is what took it and spun it after hillary said pepe meant white supremacy. I stand for free speech. Against this PC culture. That's all.

I have decided when people wanna get weird and say this frog means racism or whatever other dumb shit the PC people say, I will just troll, not worth getting mad about.

Or if that is too much to take on at once you can try just to trigger one member of the forum.

Denny is the easiest to trigger. Also the most fun.

“We should be naming hurricanes after Exxon and Chevron, not Harvey and Irma.”

    https://newrepublic.com/minutes/144735/we-naming-hurricanes-exxon-chevron-not-harvey-irma

Make a thread with that title and he will go crazy.

I guess I just don't care enough to research this frog meme. Or these alt right losers.

I read the article and didn't know what 90 percent of it was and I'm happy with that.

I'd heard of Justin Bieber for a year or two before I could recognize him. Ignorance can definitely be bliss.

I literally just heard of the Kekistan thing watching a YouTube video of some protests. It seemed like the kids were trolling antifa with it.

This explains to me why there are so many hispanic or asian nazis in these videos. They're not Nazis, they are online trolls branching out into real life.

Yes exactly. The hardcore of the bunch, kekistan and 4chan are literally just mega trolls. That's it. They just want to get a rise out of people. With cuck and Pepe the frog, so many people use the word cuck and so many people use Pepe as a humorous meme. The only issue I had with the article was that it didn't get those four things right. They aren't at all alt right. The set of the article was true but putting those four things in the alt right box wasn't good. Also the term red pill is another internet thing. There is a documentary I just watched called the red pill, this woman made a documentary on men and the injustices that can happen to them whether it's in court where the woman usually gets the child, men that are raped not taken seriously, etc. I didn't agree with the whole thing but the woman who made it was one of those new age feminists and through this documentary she changes her mind. Red pill is just a term. It's associated with the matrix mostly but trolls have used it to describe people who used to be social justice warriors and aren't now like "they got red pilled", etc
