Really? It would be a totally different style, which always brings with it unknowns, but that lineup would be soooo much more rugged and well balanced. Plodding compared to what we have now, but infinitely better defensively and no drop-off in ball handling, with three capable guys. Outside shooting may not even be much worse, with Butler picking up some of the Dame/Turner slack vs Mo/Aminu.

Maybe all 3 and anyone not named Dame/CJ/Nurkic.

And behind Hayward and Gobert, which is comical.

ESPN has Nurkic at 44, above LMA. CJ got better but slid from 26 to 31, which makes no sense. ESPN > SI here.

I think it would depend on how well CJ could adapt to playing starting PG. I'd have to be shown that that experiment would work before I'd even think about it. Also, I'm not sure you could count on Butler being willing to stay in Portland in a couple of years when his contract expires.

No argument there, but that's a totally separate matter from whether the lineup would be as good as what we have now.

CJ being a full-time PG isn't that big of a stretch, given what we've already seen from him. Butler and Turner take a huge ball handling load off him, so I don't see that being an issue. The dropoff there would be so much less than what is gained defensively and in floor balance, I'd have to take the position that it would be a disappointment if that lineup weren't significantly better.

Think of it this way, if you're facing CJ/Turner/Butler/Noah/Nurk, you know you're going to be beat to hell by the end of the night. Against our current lineup, you expect to be winded but that's about it.

Cj, Turner, Butler was pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I was holding out for the Blazers to make a play on Butler.
Yes the offensive output would drop a little - but the defensive increase is massive.

Another player I would trade him for is Anthony Davis, to plug in next to Nurk.

I like Dame off the court (personality - not the rap BS), but just not a fan of his total game on the court. Way over-rated. His defense is woeful. Till he can bring up his defensive play - he's only half of a great player - and should not be mentioned with the likes of Blazer greats (like Drexler).
