Do we want a guy who so badly wants to be somewhere else?

Eh I've thought about it and...he wants to play with his buddies, whatever. Doesn't mean he's against playing in Portland.

PG13 is in OKC. Rumors are he'd rather be in LA.

That doesn't bother me at all... Reason being if I were a NBA player stuck with the Knicks I would want to be just about anywhere else.

Also giving up the lifestyle he has in NY isn't easy. I'd actually be surprised if he did and accepted a deal to Portland. If that happens, that's a pretty big deal imo.

    NO!
And I especially don't want to give up useful assets for someone like that. This is the offer I'd make (Aminu/Ed can be shuffled as needed):

Deal isn't happening without Harkless. That's Perrys guy, a New Yorker, fills a hole, and has a higher upside and locked up longer han Aminu. If Olshey gets Melo without including Harkless I'm building him a statue

Then the deal shouldn't happen. Knicks have NO leverage here. I'm not giving up our only good SF for a possible one year rental of a guy who is now better fit to play PF.

They do have leverage. They can just keep him.

Id be shocked if our offer didn't include both Harkless and Vonleh (along with salary filler of either Davis or Leonard)

This has been discussed before but I also think Goodwin and Briscoe (plus Morrow) were brought in with the idea that there could be roster spots opening in the near future. Goodwin especially. He's too good to be just training camp filler imo. I mean compare him to some of the guys we had last season. Greg Stiemsma? Lol come on.

SJax says: "I would go. I love Portland. Those two guys, and the big guy who's lost a lot of weight, that's a good look for Melo. It might not happen because of Melo's situation with Chris Paul, but he needs to get out of NY."

The big guy who's lost a lot of weight?

    Well, that proves it...

Shawn Kemp has lost 80 pounds, looks great and is making a comeback!!!

Given the choice, would you rather deal:
    • Harkless, Meyers, and Davis
    • Turner, Collins, Vonleh and 2018 #1
