    Somehow I missed mess duty in the navy, but on board ship I was a turd chaser (Hull Tech) and in "real" life I was a turd herder.......

    It was awful, just grin, puke, and do it. Later I found out it was some what of the expected career path for the newbie for the Mark 37 Fire Control system. First the nastiest job on the ship, down in the bowels of the ship with nothing but steam, hot water, garbage, and dirty utensils.
