Arguing about ifbNY wants certain Guys from Houston or Houston is unwilling to send etc... mic match anyway you want is irrelevant. If there was a deal there to be made it would have been.

Not as good as Lee for under 12. Actually Gordon is closer to 13. 13.5 the following season and 14 In the last. Next.

For this, Morey is not holding up the deal. The Knicks do not want Ryan, and Hou only wants to give Ryan. There are probably some NGs in there and maybe a draft pick. That is why the deal hasn't gone through. NYK wants more, Hou doesn't want to give more.

Exactly. The argument shouldn't be portland vs Houston. It should be stay in New York or go to Portland.

That is the only way this current rumor makes sense to me. If Houston had what NY wanted, it would've done. They've had what, almost 2 months to get a trade done and they haven't been able to? It's pretty obvious the onus is on Houston for improving the trade.

This being said, NY hasn't shown much competency over the last several years....

Yeah it doesn't take this long to negotiate a trade. The Kyrie deal was done within what, 4-5 weeks? And that's kyrie Irving, a true superstar in his prime. The holdup here is Melo. That's it.

If houston had stuff to send over it'd already be done. That's a fan pipe dream to think players to trade are going to magically appear.

How can you argue Portland if the player with the NTC says no?

I think Portland would be a good fit, but the rumors about opening up to Portland are all from one source who said it was his opinion.

English is not my strength. So please forgive my typos, or don't.

Yeah, a veteran mentor, one of which Ariza and Gordon aren't. They have veterans. Noah, Sessions, Lee... Why would they need Gordon and Ariza on top of that?

The only argument you're come up with for why NYK would want them is "Rebuilding teams need veterans". However, NYK has veterans and doesn't value Ariza, who would be gone in a year and would only hurt their lottery pick and won't benefit younger players, and doesn't value Gordon, who would be their 3rd string SG, making $12M per year for the next 3 years, and wouldn't provide any veteran mentorship that NYK doesn't already have.

I know it's hard to admit, but the writings on the wall. HOU doesn't have the pieces to make this work.

Because there's a chance he could welcome a trade to Portland because HOU doesn't have the pieces to trade for him.

Why would NYK accept aging players who's either leave right away (Ariza) or would create a logjam at SG for an extra $12M per year for the next 3 years (at a position where they're already spending $35M), instead of letting Melo play his final year out with the chance that they'd get Melo to open up his NTC and they'd get a real return for him?

Has Melo said no to Portland? All that is just speculation. Lillard was still talking about Melo like it was a possibility 24 hours ago. I'm sure his preference is Houston, but that does NOT mean he's against Portland.

Why would anyone do anything? NYC is not the most competent franchise out there.

It's like this; I want to fuck Mila Kunis. That doesn't mean I wouldn't fuck Scarlett Johansson as well.
