    So play this scenario out. There is a team that wants/needs to get rid of a player. They lowered the value of said player for a year. New GM comes in, old GM is now his boss and was involved in lowering value. Player has a NTC and picked your team as the lucky team he would like to play for. Knowing that the team that wants to rid itself of said player only has you to trade with, would you give them market value? Remember, they spent a year lowering his value before trade talks started so it is probably at an all time low.

    I agree it is worse for NYK to get Ryan. More money and a longer contract. That makes me think that Melo would be a Knick, The knicks then have to hope he doesn't opt in for the $28M next yr. He probably won't, but what if. Melo is not getting $28M on the free market. Then you run the risk if he gets hurt and opts in.

    Chupacabra is just as much a Rockette homer as we are Blazer homers. Let's cut him/her some slack with the trade scenarios.

    I've seen (and posted) a bunch of completely unrealistic one's during this post season.

    I for one enjoy the civil banter, something we have been lacking here lately.

    and I am ok with that. If it happens. But as of today ... the options are NY or Hou. so he probably stays a knick.

    There is always rumors of a 3rd team too, but no specifics are given.

    I am. This one is a cool dude. He puts up things he hears while stuff is happening, so it doesn't always play out. I said they were rumors, not facts. so ... grain of salt.
