President Donald Trump on Thursday signed a congressional joint resolution condemning the violence of neo-Nazis and white supremacists during a rally in Virginia last month, despite his equivocating on the matter during a meeting the day before with the Senate's only black Republican.

“As Americans, we condemn the recent violence in Charlottesville and oppose hatred, bigotry, and racism in all forms,” Trump said in a statement issued by the office of the press secretary late Thursday.

He added: “No matter the color of our skin or our ethnic heritage, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God.”

I made myself clear in the thread about the 8 year olds taking a knee. That's not agreeing with Trump at all.

I offered no opinion on what Trump said, I just set the record straight.

Be a buffoon if you must. I'd prefer to to respond in kind.

 

The players do have a fiduciary duty to the league. It's not unreasonable for the league or owners to demand the players do nothing that does harm to the league or teams.

While I'm with the players in spirit, it's duh kind of obvious that if they do not act out, the league is better off. They risk pissing off a bunch of people who do take the symbolism of the flag seriously, which isn't good for the league.

 

Explain how that is an insult?
