They're upset because they didn't think Melo made us better than them. They know OKC is better than them. Also it's a flashback to Bosh.
NYK paying Noah and Kanter $36 million a year to back up Hernangomez. Congratulations Scott Perry, you just doubled down on the worst bet your predecessor made. You also traded Carmelo Anthony and didn't get a single starter in return. BNM
Well I'm very relieved that at least we'll have Harkless at SF. Whew! Now let's see if we can trade Turner at some point this season. Who needs a SG/SF?
We could have had a summer of acquiring PG13 and Melo..... but because of Kevin Fucking Pritchard, the Thunder are now probably the second best team in the west.
I feel like this dark cloud has been lifted off my shoulders from this summer of unknown. I was intrigued about Melo but extremely hesitant about giving up on Harkless.
How low is Portland on the totem pole of NBA cities when Oklahoma is ahead of them? Yes I know they have Westbrook and George for the year.
It's not the destination, it's the team. Only when we get to the WCF will other players want to come here. Until then, playing with a player who just had a year like Westbrook did will always be more appealing than playing for a one-and-done Playoff team.
But at least we retained assets so we can make better trades in the future. Rather than spending those assets to still not have a chance to contend.
Ya because Harkless is just so damn good. Sorry I still think the Blazers can do better for a starting SF.
Noah doesn't count. He won't play much as he is awful. They will put O'Quinn up for a trade and I would not mind taking him here. Also, Kanter can and will play as power forward. They will IMO trade Porzingis during season.
Ok, I should've qualified this more. It (might) increase OKCs chances, which might stress a former Sonics fan such as myself. I know plenty of S2 members hate Seattle, so anything that benefits OKC should theoretically make them happy. Didn't mean to cause a ruckus. On the other hand, OKC is undoubtedly a blazer rival and so I hope we keep Melo from winning a championship.
Regardless of how you feel about Olshey, we can't blame him for failing to upgrade the roster. We put in an amazing offer for PG only to see KP take a horrendous deal from OKC. Pretty safe to say we could have topped the OKC offer had Melo put us on his trade list sooner as well. It's gotta be extremely frustrating for Dame and CJ. They openly recruit players to come here but for one reason or another, it's just not in the cards. We're really going to bank on internal development to compete in the insanely difficult Western Conference this year. Also, we need at least one of the two young rookies to really pan out. Ugh, another irritating day to be a Blazers fan.
