I agree with you to a point. People want people to be divided, it's then easier for People to control people. However Trump really crossed a line to me when he called people a son of a bitch. Regardless how you feel about standing or kneeling for the anthem. I think most would agree that he went too far. Have an opinion, be against kneeling or be for it. But it's completely wrong to frankly insult another human in the way Trump did. Even my alt-right wing family members say Trump went too far. Even though they agree with him.
Trump is right. If you disrespect our armed forces as a public protest to something completely unrelated to the armed forces you are a son of a bitch. Nfl players and the like are at work which is not a place to protest. My grandpa fought in 3 wars for these cocksuckers to have the freedom to get paid millions to throw a ball. Show a little respect to our armed forces. If you want to protest do so by not becomming a statistic. How about go back to the communities you came from and teach kids that crime doesnt pay and teach them to respect authority. Maybe a few generations from now there wont be such a disconnect between law authority and community. Or better yet, move to north korea and stand for their national anthem because we dont want your communist ass here anyway.
No idea tbh. I still think he took a knee cause his career was over and he needed some publicity. The only bad thing i can say about how trump has handled this shit is why are you paying them any attention at all. They are getting the coverage they want to boost their dwindling ratings.
He was doing his thing in a campaign speech, riling up his audience. If he's not reading from the teleprompter, the media will jump on any thing they can to turn it into a constitutional crisis.
No one is disrespecting the armed forces. Read or listen to what they are actually saying. 3 million American citizens are without power or running water, will be for months, Trump silent. Shooting in church, Trump silent. Athletes protest, Trump won't shut up.

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump announced today a personal donation of $1 million dollars to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and have designated twelve organizations to receive contributions. The President and First Lady witnessed the work of some of these groups first hand while visiting with hurricane survivors, first responders, volunteers, and Federal, State, and local officials, and are proud to further assist the recovery efforts in Texas. Several of the following organizations were recommended, at the invitation of the President, by members of the White House Press Corps, and he would like to thank those who made recommendations for their attention to this important cause. A White House official told CNN that the island may not be prepared for a presidential visit quite yet. "He is committed to going, but date is still unclear," the official said. "As you note, there are significant infrastructure concerns." The President spoke with Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello on Thursday, and there are growing concerns that the process of restoring power to the island could take months. The presidential attention could offset concerns that the US territory, which has no voting representation in Congress, might not get the same attention or financial relief as some states, like Florida and Texas, that were also recently struck by hurricanes.

More than 1,600 service members from the US National Guard have also responded to Hurricane Maria, according to FEMA's news release. Additionally, US Northern Command, which provides military support for civil authorities, is working with FEMA and government officials in the relief efforts, the release said. ... Earlier this week, Trump issued a disaster declaration for Puerto Rico and order federal assistance for various recovery efforts.

Stacey Plaskett, who represents the territory in Congress, told The Post on Tuesday night that the Federal Emergency Management Administration has personnel pre-staged there to help launch recovery efforts once the storm passes. The White House declared a state of emergency there earlier in the evening, but Plaskett, a Democrat, called Irma “a local issue,” and insisted the local government has the lead in ensuring a swift, orderly response. Of principal concern, she said, are the islands’ hospitals, many of which have lacked enough in federal funding to complete desired building upgrades that would fortify them against severe weather. What money is given to the Virgin Islands through Medicare and Medicaid is prioritized for patient care, she said. The Navy is ready to deploy a hospital ship and medical personnel if such help is needed, Plaskett told The Post. Clinton really needs to shut the fuck up.
While I understand the reason, and COMPLETELY agree that there is an issue that needs to be fixed. I don't like the whole kneeling thing. How will you react if one or more of the Blazers kneels or sits during the Anthem?
Won't bother me one tiny little bit. I'd consider doing it simply as a protest against the mob mentality of the assholes who are so bent out of shape about it.
I remember Quick and Canzano being super pearl-clutchy about Roy not standing for the anthem in...2009? Anything that tweaks their noses is fine with me.
This. I have nothing against patriotism and the national fight song, but the way it's conducted at sporting events is nothing short of a nationalistic religious indoctrination ceremony, participation mandatory. The participation mandatory part I find completely un-American, and thus, un-patriotic. The protesters are the real patriots.
It's entertainment. There's loud music, cheerleaders, and professional athletes doing their jobs. I don't hear the anthem before movies or concerts. What place does it have in pro sports? This isn't the Olympics.
