Our state is so liberal that you don't even have to campaign. Your boss can be a crook, get elected, step down, and then you can coast to a re-election. You don't need to debate. You don't need to stand for anything. You don't need to believe in anything. You just need to mark "D" next to your party affiliation and you're good to go.
We do our part down here and vote against the "D" every election, not enough people to make a difference though.
The biggest problem is that the Oregon Republicans can never find anyone worth a lick to run. It's like every Gubernatorial or Senatorial election they trot out the crazy old uncle that no one wants to claim instead of a viable candidate. I mean, it's not like the Democratic candidates are the cream of anyone's crop. But at least they can complete a sentence without twitching and drooling. It's like the Republicans make a conscious choice to lose.......and then we get stuck with a complete hack like Kate Brown. The least the Republicans could do is give us a realistic choice.....
