The arrogance is astounding. They milked the fandom/cash cow from the dynasty until there's nothing left.
With the first rebuild in the he had, not Jerry K's rebuild, his. The crowd came because of the MJ/Pippen years. The carry over was still there. Last season, TV attendance dropped. Look for this to happen some more IMO. Most rebuilds, take more than 4 or 5 years. Many fans will not stick around for that. Last night on Bulls Talk at CSN, Will Perdue pushed the idea that we can turn it around as early as next season. That is fools gold. Jerry Krause thought the same thing and look what happen to him. He signed the Mercers of the world. I think we will be one of the 4 or 5 teams next season that will have a lot of money to sign young FA such as Parker and others. Perdue, said in theory we can just outbid the other team(s). He also added we cannot go after older free agents, it has to be players that are young. Good luck with that.
Paxson's almost certainly right, but only in the long term and only if their rebuilding job succeeds to same degree. Most Bulls fans only want a reasonably entertaining product. They won't have it this season so we should expect attendance and ratings to suffer.
