I hate these one game playoffs to see if you're "in" or you're "out"!!!!!!!!! Some testament to playing 162 game season!
...I don't the one game thing either...in fact, I don't like the best of 5 format either...I think the W/C game should be a best of 5 series and all other series should be best of 7.

I agree that it's tough after 162 games to have your entire season come down the one game. It's like the NCAA play in games they added but not really since those are low level teams just being given a shot to get in the big dance.
I look at the wildcard game as a second chance for teams to still have a shot at winning a championship despite falling short on winning their division.
I'm one who also feels that second place is no place and you deserve nothing. But taking the it is what it is 2017 game we can only hope that the Yankees will win and get in to the tournament. The 2015 Team that lost the one game was a group of aging prima donnas and mercenaries who in the end fell off a 7 game to a six games behind finish. Tonight we will see a team with home grown talent maturing from last year to its current status. Do the math Yankees 2017-2009 is eight years. Should you get into the main tournament Cleveland will be a tough assignment but remember that the '14 Orioles swept a Tiger Team that had Scherzer, Verlander, and Price in its starting rotation.

...no, I'm the same old school way....and unless they change this inane 1 game playoff thing, my opinion won't change.
...as usual, Vic tells it like it is...with the exceptions of; 1. with this idiotic 1 game playoff thing, even if you win you have likely burnt up your ace to begin the next round. 2. home run happy teams like the Yanx don't usually fair well in the PS because they are generally facing more dominant pitching. ...having said that, I will once again say that no matter what happens tonight and hopefully moving forward this PS, I am proud of how this team over-achieved this year.
ah shit no way to start out a game, HR to Dozier. Hope the Yanx bats are hotter than hell tonight, they're going to need to hit, run and score.....doh- (no shit eh)...
