You can still find some of the M16A1's (original full auto) and some Special folks used the A3 (full auto) for a while. In the 90's, regular old Marines like me were issued the A2 (with 3-rd burst). Both times I deployed to AFG, the Marines had M16A4's while I was issued the M4 carbine (3rd burst)

You got bent out of shape because I said people like you? Lol. I have seen your posts before, it's the typical left wing ideology. I think the same of the super right wing posters. Shits dumb. You didn't say it like that but yeah I assume most support NRA but you would be surprised how many people on the left also have guns. I think it's just divisive the way you put it, that's all. Not once did I question anything regarding you serving. So I don't know, that's your issue I guess

I've already posted what exactly you'd need to do to get this sort of gun in the US. page 2.
I've also said any FAW weapon is going to be at least 31 years old if you get it legally.
I don't know why you & denny are coming at me when I've posted links. & in denny's case posted a quote directly from his own link that prove they're not all banned.
I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from s2 lately though.
I'm sorry if you think they're legally unattainable, not much I can do other than laugh.

Nobody's coming "at you" for any reason whatsoever.

The guy got a weapon that is REALLY expensive, rigidly controlled, and near impossible to get legally. That's all. Has nothing to do with you or your posts.

Yeah, its the same as being able to build a bomb. Not that tough to do, but get caught with one? Oh my. Federal time.

I didn't say that they're legally unobtainable. I said they're extremely hard to obtain.... and they ARE banned. The fact that some are grandfathered in does not change the fact that machine guns are banned and you need an exception to own one.

Please, show me the last time an actual machine gun was used in a mass shooting. There is no evidence that the shooting last night was carried out with a machine gun. It's more likely he was using a modified AR-15, which is not a machine gun, nor has it ever been a machine gun.

Friend at work just got here. Thousand plus people waiting to give blood and they can't even come close to handling all those waiting. He waited from 7 to 11 and they were still on page 2 of their list and my friend was on page 9

Expert: Las Vegas shooter may have used trigger crank

The speed, pattern and inconsistent rate of gunfire heard in videos of the Las Vegas shooting indicate the suspect could have used cheap and legal modification devices to accelerate the firing of a semi-automatic weapon to almost 700 rounds a minute.

And the kinds of devices that would make that possible are readily available — relatively cheaply on the internet — even to people who can't qualify to buy an automatic weapon.

Video taken near the Mandalay Bay Casino by a bystander provides audio of the continuous fire. While fast, the audio doesn’t mimic a consistent, fully automatic rate, said Mel Bernstein, owner of Dragonman’s shooting range in Colorado Springs, Colo., who analyzed the sounds from the video for USA TODAY.

USA TODAY reviewed the video and counted more than 10 shots fired per second.

Semi-automatic weapons fire one round per trigger pull, while fully-automatic rifles fire continuously when the trigger is depressed. Two legal, off-the-shelf devices could have been used to recreate a fully-automatic rate of fire, increasing the speed by hundreds of rounds per minute.

People who listened to the videos believe he was either using a crank to fire rapidly, or bump firing.

Las Vegas Gunman May Have Used at Least One Automatic Weapon, Audio Suggests

Weapons capable of burst fire have long been federally regulated in the United States, and are much more difficult to obtain than weapons that fire semiautomatically, for which regulations vary by state.

In some videos of the shooting, the rate of fire sounds inconsistent, at times sputtering. This suggests another possibility: that a weapon could have been modified to fire faster, a change to a semiautomatic firearms known as bump or slide fire. Such modifications harness the recoil to allow for rapid fire.

The duration of the bursts in Las Vegas, as recorded, also suggest that if the shooter had military or other formal weapons training, he did not follow it. Conventional military training emphasizes brief, controlled bursts of fire, not the extended bursts heard in Las Vegas.

Gang violence, or drive bys, are not what we're talking about though. That's why I said "mass shootings."

You told me I was confused, I'm not confused.
You then went onto repeat things I said on page 2 in a fucking quote to me because you thought I was confused.

Frankly if you really want to get technical about guns, military grade imports pre 86 are easier to get than non imports.
But hey I'm confused right? It's not Denny at all...

I'm not going to keep repeating myself. Either accept the info I put on page 2 or kick rocks.
