What causes someone at the age of 64, with no criminal background, to snap and kill a bunch of people? What constitutes a "bad guy? " People kill for a lot of reasons. They kill for passion (they catch their spouse in bed with another person), they kill for money (gangs and drug dealers), they kill for anger (the guy that shoots someone because of road rage.) But what causes someone to plan out an elaborate assault on thousands of people that they don't know? Do you think depression is a form of mental illness?
Yeah, I thought of that too. No problem with it as an alternative if it doesn't hold things up too much at the elevators.
He was sane???? He just wanted to try out all his guns?????? He could have had a brain tumor for all we know. Something had to be wrong with him.
I'd think that hotels would have to institute a policy of having a secure place for guests to check their guns. I can see that being an issue. I think that it would make sense though for the specific instance that happened in Vegas: outdoor concerts in urban areas with nearby multi-story buildings.
The other thing is that it would be extremely difficult for a single sniper team to cover multiple directions. There's a reason why they have many sniper teams to protect the President. It's hard to effectively cover 360 degrees.
It could be the Russians. Have a hit squad in adjacent rooms. Shooter is dead before the SWAT team arrives.
Not a good one. Just about everyone has the right to own a weapon, if they pay for it. Everyone has the right to health care, if they (or someone like me or another taxpayer) pay for it. And until the ACA shut down the ability to have free clinics, you didn't even need to pay, in some places (like my church's free clinic in West Seattle). You can't even discriminate against felons like you can for voting and gun purchases. Poor effort meme'ing by this one...
When Paul Ryan was asked why they overturned Obama-era regulation that prohibited people so disabled by mental illness they can't work and receive Social Security, he replied that would take away their freedom. The "replacement" to Obamacare eliminated mental health. So if you're severely mentally ill (no idea if this killer was or not) you have the right to all the guns you want but no right to treatment for your illness.
So because others raised similar thoughts they are all wrong? Is that your point? According to Pat Robertson, god arranged the killing because Americans don't love Donald Trump enough. Not sure why his god picked this group, seems there must be more Trump-hating crowd somewhere.
Oh damn! Pat Robertson!!!!! Holy shit. For confirmation of this, someone needs to ask Charles Manson. If you say David Duke agrees with those two you'll blow my mind. Uhhhh derp a derp Pat Robertson said so. Hahahahahaahahahahahaha. Who fucking cares?
Without going into whether you're correct or not about the regulation (and I haven't seen a replacement to Obamacare passed, so I can't speak about that one) I'll say again... AFAIK, no one has ever been turned away from a hospital for wanting to pay for medical care, mental health or not. I, for one, have been turned away from purchasing a weapon, security clearance, valid ID and orders in hand (and willing to pay for it). Your analogy only seems to work if the people you were railing against were wanting to issue free guns and ammo to everyone in the country. We both know that's not happening anytime soon. And if it did, we could go the Chris Rock method.
Or..... as they've said in news reports..... he had multiple guns, and instead of reloading he was just dropping one and picking up another.
