D.J. White is the 6'9" 251 pound junior forward/center at I.U. After redshirting his sophomore season he put up 13.8 ppg 7.3 rpg 0.9 spg and 2.3 bpg this season. Several sites have him ranked as a lottery pick or at least top 20 for this year's draft. Other sites have him as a lottery pick for next year's draft. It is uncertain whether he will enter the draft or remain at I.U. next year to form a devastating duo with Eric Gordon. In fact, if he wanted to he could apply for a 5th year since he redshirted his sophomore year. Several members of the I.U. coaching staff have stated that an extra season would most likely be given to him. Honestley I don't think he's ready for the NBA yet. Yeah - he's athletic and has a lot of potential all ready but I don't think he can play the 3 or the 4 yet at the NBA level. Most scouting sites have him listed as an NBA small foward - a posistion I see hard for him to play. He's got a thick body and is 251 pounds and 6'9". I would see him as a power forward in the NBA - maybe along the lines of a NJ era Kenyon Martin. He doesn't really have any dribbling skills to speak of and I've never seen him hit a shot outside 15 feet. But at the power forward spot he doesn't have a lot of post moves just a lot of athletiscm. His defense is great but his rebounding could still use some work. So right now I'd classify him as a tweener (in-betwener). There are some good tweeners in the NBA but they are all much better at the sf spot than D.J. White is. You can definetley tell that he may be able to play both posistions effectively someday but that day is a long time from now. If I were him I'd stick around another year. What do you guys think of this guy?

I really don't think he is ready for the NBA either from what I have seen of him. I agree with both of you- he can be inconsistent.

He's only a sophomore this season because he redshirted a year ago, and he looks a lot closer to 6'7" than 6'9"...but he's a good athlete, long arms, good rebounder/shotblocker...etc...I think he should stay in school for another season, if he improves and becomes more consistant he could be a late-1st round pick next year.

I've seen some sites that list him 5th overall next year.

With guys like OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, Chase Budiner, Darrell Arthur, Nick Batum, Eric Gordon, Darren Collison, Mike Conley, DJ Augustin...no way.
