We won't sniff a trade till the deadline...as it is it's a competition for 2nd string rotation spots...deep frontcourt...when Vonleh comes back, even deeper...lot of fouls to give...if Morrow pans out and Shabazz comes back strong we're set...this year's 3rd string will be better than last year's...
I look at the league and Allen Crabbe and Nic Batum are out already with injury.......bullets dodged!
ET still isn't a good enough shooter from midrange for it to be a good shot. I'd rather have Harkless shooting 3s then Turner shooting mid-range. I think Moe's post game is just as good as Turners if not better. The biggest difference is that Harkless does take pressure off our guards because he knows how to move without the ball.
Probably would have to give up a pick as well. Can Bradley play some SF? I know he's 6'2 but his defense could make up for it. I wonder if 25 minutes a game backing up our guards and 5 minutes a game at SF next to our guards would satisfy him enough to resign. He'd probably like being back in the NW and next to Turner. Crowder is a better option.
Of course Crowder would be preferable, but the Cavs absolutely need his defense to challenge the warriors. Detroit doesn't really need Bradley for anything in particular this season.
Neil has a pretty good eye for talent in the draft. Maybe we should keep our picks and only trade players for more picks. I know that isn't feasible, but getting really good free agents with a couple years left on their contract so we can convince them to stay is tough. I would love Bradley or Crowder though.
I think Love would be traded before Crowder, especially with Crowder's great contract. and with Bradley being a UFA after this yr we certainly could not afford him so why give up talent just for this yr?
I guess it depends on if you think we are interested in resigning Vonleh or have a spot for Aminu w/the rest of the bigs
I think a lot of smaller market teams are trending this way. A first round draft pick has never been more valuable. We seem to do best with draft picks and bargain bin young guys (Nurkic, Harkless, Vonleh, Napier). After the Crabbe and Turner contracts, I don't think I trust our front office with large free agent acquisitions anymore.
This will be a good contest for Swanigan today going against Griffin and if he can pass the test then he has to be the starter this year at PF. I also like see Collins go up against him he might bother griffin with his length.
People are over-looking a big time flaw in Swanigan's game. He's got sub-par lateral quickness. You can forgive this in a center, who is patrolling the paint, but in today's NBA, PFs are guarding the perimeter a lot, they get switched onto guards etc... In the starting lineup, the Blazers are going to want more defense out of their PF. That's why I really doubt Swanigan is going to win the starting spot. It'll go to Collins, Davis or Aminu.
That why you put him in spots with the starters to see if he going to be liability on that end with the starters. I know what your saying and Stotts already said he like Collins and Swanigan pair together due to them just coming out of college.
Not really I think Swanigan and Collins will be better in the long run then Bell. Bell will not get much run with golden state this year.
