If Embiid meets the super max criteria over course of deal, he could earn as much as $178M.

I wonder if that's what the $23M range indicates? If so, even the low end is a monstrosity of a gamble.

Holy shit, he's missed 215 out of 246 games and still got 30 million per. I know they said there are safeguards in it, so it must be contingent on him playing games, etc.

It's contracts like that that will ruin a team and maybe the league in the long run.

I haven’t had time to look back in this thread so I don’t know if this has been posted yet. Allen Crabbe’s comments after his first game we’re interesting:

"Just watching the first two preseason games and all the shots and how the offense flows, it's the perfect system for me. I just came in with confidence," Crabbe told Brian Lewis of the New York Post. "It's a different feel here, when coach [Kenny Atkinson] is telling you to do more, to shoot more. It's like the ultimate green light, so I'm out there just playing basketball freely, not thinking about anything, just letting the game come to me."

So, having to think too much in Stotts’ system is why he was inconsistent here?

So he didn't have the ultimate green light playing for Terry FUCKING Stotts in a 2nd unit deprived of good shooters ? Give me a fucking break.

I would like to see him reach his minutes cap in consecutive seasons first. I realize this might come off as cold but you are talking to a lifelong Blazer fan. I really like Embiid and '76ers though. They are def my fav non-Blazer squad. I don't want to see the Celtics rule the East once LeBron gets the fuck out of Cleveland.

I don't think the Sixers understand that they have to trade Embiid....

If he's Oden 2.0 they can't trade him, if he's healthy why would they ?

Embiid is a special talent but man, that deal is ridiculous for someone who has basically missed his first three years. He was very good when he played but that was for 31 games in a season that they largely wrote off anyway, then he went off with injury and has not been playing full time basketball for about six months since.

At his best and in full health Embiid is worth $25M a year or so. He is signing for $30M a year while forever injured, this is just insane.

There are periods in which he is hyped and healthy, they must trade him during one of those periods.

There was one period when he was hyped and healthy. It lasted about two months.

I know it'd be hard for you with your work schedule, but this info is also for anyone else interested. You can sign up with www.nbl.tv and watch every NBL game for only $5 AUD per month, or sign up to watch only one NBL team for free. We're only a couple of games into our season, and it goes until March. Games usually start between 9PM PDT, and 1:30AM PDT.

Yeah he was over here by himself, without family, and returned to be with a sick family member. Very different situation to a younger player coming out here.

Little brothers are always jealous of their big brothers, kind of like I imagine it is between you , and Canada.
