I understand that when Tanaka & Darvish started a Yankees Rangers Game as opponents it drew a huge viewing in Japan. Historical moment if they made a World Series Start as opponents.
I can never forget seeing Hideo Nomo's LA debut, as well as Ichiro's in Anaheim..... Both stadiums were packed to the hilt. How 40,000 asians obtained tickets I will never figure out.... imagine 80% of all fans being of asian descent, and every single one with a camera around their necks. Damn things flashed all game long, and unlike most games in LA, no one went home like normal during the 7th Inning stretch. They stayed for every pitch, and the rest of us were blind. Made for a helluva night driving home, blinded..... 'I saw the light' alright- ~!~ crazy thing was they took pics of everything imaginable; hot dog stands, peanut & beer vendors, trash cans, one fkr tried to take a pic in the mens room, and was quickly tossed....
