Canzano does not agree with this.

Baldwin is also repped by priority which has a good relationship with Olshey. I'm sure Portland wasn't the only team interested in Baldwin. Their reputation in developing and giving young players opportunity probably helped land him, because a guy like Baldwin could've went overseas, made more money, and returned to the league later. He's only 21, tying himself to one team on a gleague salary isn't the most ideal situation, unless it's with a team like Portland. I could see Olshey and his agent having some sort of under the table agreement that Baldwin would get the full 45 days on the active roster, and eventually an NBA contract.

as a first rounder, isn't his first three years salary guaranteed?

If he was a good shooter in college than I agree there is hope. Look at how many rookies are drafted who don't even shoot well in college but have other strengths (i.e size, handles, athleticism) so they end up being top picks based on potential. Hell Ben Simmons was taken #1 in that draft and he had no outside in college. Oladipo and MKG are others. Some get better and other don't.

Good handles are more difficult to develop. Either you have them or you don't IMO.

Wow. I guess that answers the "why not Briscoe County Jr." question.

FWIW, the draftexpress scouting report said that he was an excellent catch-and-shoot 3 point shooter in college, but wasn't a good shooter off the dribble.

Naw man, you gotta do that for the fans! I remember being at a game where we were well ahead but just under 100 points and Telfair was dribbling the clock out. The fans wanted those free chalupas and encouraged him to shoot, so he heaved up a similar shot with the exact same result. The shining moment of Telfair's career as far as I'm concerned!

He apparently played HS ball with Karl Towns.

I'm kind of surprised the Blazers haven't sniffed around Joel Bolomboy. Weber State grad - looked okay for Utah but they just waived him.

I don't understand why players get so butt hurt about that. Game's over. It's meaningless. Bunch of babies.
