He addresses exactly why you all seem to hate him. Because he "shows off too much" THATS PART OF THE GAME.

He might just record something and send it to someone with NBA.com to type up. My dad does that all the time - he's a surgeon and he has to do all these reviews so he records what he wants to say and then sends it to his secretary to type for him.

He doesn't spend every hour of every day in the gym. Besides you know how much downtime NBA players have on roadtrips. Probabely did that on the team bus.

BCB he hardly talked about himself in that post, he used himself as an example but it was about why we love the game. The pure emotion and that has been lost in the NBA recently except for one franchise Washington and you all tell him to "shut up and play basketball" like it is offensive to someone when it is only to get the wizards pumped and having A GOOD TIME. Having fun playing basketball not just oding it for the next paycheck.

I made the post after reading the first few paragraphs...then realized he stopped talking about himself, realized I was wrong so I deleted it. I like Arenas, but the constant 'nobody believed in me' and the constant blabbering about his personal statistical achievements bother me. I know he's a nice guy, but it gets tiring.

    Re: Gil's latest blog

I get that he does quote his stats a bit much but he cares more about the wizards than his personal accomplishment although it's not too unreasonable to have a couple of personal goals that won't clash with the teams. We saw that clearly in January where he would do whatever the Wizards needed him to do and we finished 10-5 in the month and by the end of the month had first seed in the conference. You have to realize that he was like an awe mouthed kid watching the NBA when he was a teenager with basically no chance to make it but he made it through and I mean thats quite an experience. It's like living your wildest dream.

I don't think the Warrior fans quickly adapted with Gilbert and his attitude the first couple years in the league. There's always some mountain he had to climb over in every part of his life, so and you believe that he made it all the way to the NBA leading the Wizards, being an all-star 3 times and all that jazz. I think he deserves his credit and zero to hero sh*t.

    Re: Gil's latest blog

Oh please, he was solid recruit that played on one of the best college programs in the country. I get tired of Gilbert Arenas always talking about people doubting him and telling him he was not going to make it, does he realize how many guys have gone through the same thing? I wish he'd just shut up about it, I've read about it in SLAM, HOOPS, on the Nike commercial...etc...Maybe if Arenas didn't leave Arizona after his sophomore season he would have been a first rounder, christ, he was the 31st pick, it's not like he went in the 40's or 50's.... I think Tyrus Thomas is twice the story....he was 6'7" 185 pounds, made the LSU team because another guy got injured...he barely got a scholarship...was a SG/SF...then had a neck injury, came back at 6'8" 1/2 and put on 35 pounds and became a star.... But you don't here Tyrus Thomas talking about it 24/7.

    Re: Gil's latest blog

There are other "star" players that have had a tougher road to the NBA and possibly stardom that Gilbert Arenas has, but you don't hear them constantly using the "me against the world" attitude.. just take Ben Wallace for example. Sure, it was cool for awhile, and I'll admit that, but now he is the man on his team so why does he feel he still has to use the whole "me against the world" angle to prove himself? Oh, you got cut from Team USA? Big frickin' deal... there were plenty of other players that got cut, and there were players that didn't even get invited when they should have. Accept it like a man, go out and work hard (which he is doing), and try again next time around. Don't go to the media and make a huge deal out of it.And I only read about half of that blog before closing it, because all I got from the first half was "other people make predictions, so why can't I?" Well, my answer to that is, go ahead and make predictions and set goals for yourself and your team, but don't go to the media and say "hey guys, I'm going to score 50 against [insert team here]!" Everybody knows he can play, he just needs to stop with guarantees and go out and do it. Now, to his credit I don't think he made another guarantee after he scored 9 against Portland the first time around (correct me if I'm wrong)... the only reason this whole thing is coming up again is because they just played Portland again.

BigMo, our discussion is about the second part of the blog entry, the first part is pretty un-related.....btw, if you don't think Gilbert "worked" after he got cut from Team USA your an idiot. Look how much better he's gotten from last year to this year.

I mean isn't that his cliche? He might have spruced it up but that's what I got from his blog. And it's old to me.
