It is a concern. He wa not happy in LA or Phoenix. He really needs to accept coming off the bench if he wants to play for a winning team.
I believe you'd give CJ and Dame 34 minutes a game, with Bledsoe getting 28 as a backup guard and 3 minutes alongside Dame and CJ when other teams go small (ex. when the Mavericks go with Wesley at SF, etc.) You'd have Moe play about 22 mintes at SF and 6 minutes at PF with Turner playing 26 minutes at SF. Pat is still a fringe rotation player, so I wouldn't call it a logjam.
Why wouldn't we just go with: POR Gets: Crowder PHX Gets: Vonleh, Shumpert, 2018 POR 1st, 2019 CLE 1st CLE Gets: Bledsoe
I had to Google Osman. He looks like a young Petro with that stroke. They would be stupid to give up on him
You weren't asking me, but I like Crowder too. Vonleh and a first seems like way too much though. I think a lot of times we overthink these hypothetical proposals because in the end deals are rarely ever as "fair" as we would've guessed. (Btw I don't think Vonleh and a first for a role player, as good as he is, is fair) Reports now say Bledsoe just got sent home from the team. If Phoenix were smart, they'd trade not only Bledsoe, but Chandler, and soon. We should get involved somehow. Let's find Napier a new home where he can play. Let's find Vonleh the same, and finally, let's sneak Meyers into one of their luggage.
They're going to get pennies on the dollar because of this. It's possible he has been asking for a trade and finally got frustrated.
The TPE can be used for single player trades... TPE + Turner for Chandler and Bledsoe? TPE + Meyers is just a touch too low an offer to be a legal trade.
I don't want to trade Turner. Even last year I thought he was our most consistent defender and this year he's found his role offensively as well. He's an asset to us. I like the idea of Chandler and/or Bledsoe though. I do agree that the concerns of Bledsoe not being happy about a backup role are legitimate.
I think that's too late in the season. The deadline trade for Nurk was fine because we were a total dumpster fire last season. But if we're rolling along mid season, and Neil makes a trade, it could derail our chemistry.
Plus how does one build value without playing? Does Vonleh just get his starting job back? I think he showed enough at the end of last year to intrigue teams, plus he's still what, 21-22? I wouldn't be against giving Vonleh another look here either. His defense and rebounding is still fun and he did have chemistry with Nurk. Meyers is completely out of the rotation and Napier needs to be elsewhere imo, he's good enough to be in a rotation.
Man... I don't want to trade Napier. I think he's a classic Patty Mills. I don't think he's good enough to be starting. He's small, he's mostly just a scorer, and I think he's perfectly suited as a backup. I'd rather he be here.
