Hiring Lindy Ruff was a huge mistake too. What was the point of hiring him? You need to bring in young, motivated guys and not old farts like Ruff.
Is what it is this year, if they end up with a high pick that could be a blessing. Then alot of this dead weight will be gone, maybe a few dealt during the year for picks. Build around Shatt, Skjei, McD, Buch, Vesey, Zib, Miller and and CK.
McD is garbage. I've had it with him. No way you keep him cause he will want a huge contract. You already committed to that trash Shatt.
Hank needs to change the way he plays a little. His reflexes aren't the same. He needs to play out of the net more. He's letting in too many crap goals. I have no issues trading McDonagh. He'll bring back a ton. Kreider can go as well. Sick of his ass.
Hank was an extraordinary talent when he came on the scene over a decade ago and while he would frequently give up a bad angle goal early in the game he would then become extremely focused and almost impossible to score on. Hank didn't make any effort to work on his technical game regarding proper positioning to avoid letting in these shots that every NHL opponent knew he was susceptible to missing. Hank also made no effort to improve his stick handling so debacles like last night's goal were commonplace. Now years later Hank's laziness has come back to bite him, after posting the worst numbers of his career last year things are not looking any better this year. I think the defensemen can certainly do a better job clearing the juicy rebounds Hank continues to give up but these almost daily soft goals are back breakers.
It's a broken record but you can't be down 1-0 or 2-0 early every single game. Especially, on home ice where it takes the crowd out of the game and allows the other team to sit back and clog the zone.
I remember my bro in 2005 telling me that they got this guy Lundqvist that is suppose to be good (As opposed to Kevin Weekes). He’s been good a long time but is no longer elite. He needs solid defense or a lot of offense. No in between because he’s past his prime
Personally, I'm excited for a partial rebuild. Moving on from Hank will come in a couple of years. Kreider will bring back a top 10 pick and a good prospect like Stepan did. McDonagh will bring back a top 5 pick and a good prospect. The Rangers rebuild will be quick and effective with the right picks and prospects coming back. If they trade off McDonagh and Kreider now they could conceivably have three top 10 picks in this years draft
I think Lundqvists play right now is a combo of his typical slow start plus what's going on in front of him. I think if the team gets on track a little he will get going too. But there's no question we're seeing a slow decline in his reflexes.
i can't help but rain on your parade but what 2 bottom 10 teams are going to trade their LOTTERY pick for mcd or krieder? please i would love to know. oh not to mention a good prospect too? mcd who is going to be entering his walk year? which btw isn't really enticing way to keep the guy if your a bottom 10 team. o and hes going to be 29 lol keep dreaming i can see the conversation right now "hey i know we are a bottom 10 team but i really think we should be trading away our lotto first round pick for mcd. hes only 28! and we will have him for two years!"
Hey dumbass. You know nothing about hockey. You sucked off Lou for 8 years when he was senile. Not one person here has any respect for anything you think about hockey. If you had an ounce of brains you would know this is not a legendary draft. It's an OK draft. Rangers can easily rebuild. The reason is because they didn't have all shit players like the Devils on bad contracts that never made the playoffs. The players on this team have won tons of playoff games. For the most part they have good contracts. McDonagh is on a great contract. Kreider has a good contract. Why you even bother to come to this board is sad. You probably think your shit team will end up with a good record when in reality, you will suck as usual. Other than the moron from the Penguins who posted on ESPN for years and Reggiet. You might be the dumbest fuck most of us have seen on hockey. Stop talking with your classified brain that is the size of a pea. To prove you know nothing about hockey. Kreider in the eyes of other teams has more value than Stepan you moron. He's impossible to move in front of the net. Speed is coveted by all teams. He's on a much better contract than Stepan. He's coming off a 28 goal year. Stepan brought back the 7th pick in the draft which was a draft that was higher rated than this one. If you had any clue on this sport you would know this. However, you're retarded on this sport so you don't.
If they can snag a mid-2nd and solid prospect for Nash, and maybe Grabner or Zucc bring back something that might work if they're out of it by Jan. I would look into maybe dealing Hayes as well.
I swear, Devils fans are dumb as dog shit on hockey. You know how many players the Rangers have that are coveted by other teams? A shit load. Buffalo would probably offer Reinhart, their number 1 and a prospect for McDonagh. I would say Montreal would offer up right now their number 1 pick for Kreider, their favorite. Montreal has Price. They aren't rebuilding. They need to win now. Montreal doesn't accept these kind of seasons. So would Vancouver. So would Detroit. So would Buffalo. So would Colorado. If it was a legendary draft, then no. It's not. It's a draft where scouting will be key with the first round picks. What's funny about how fucking dumb NJCup is. They offered the 9th pick in the draft for a fucking career backup in Schneider. Sadly, he's too stupid to see this. That pick was Bo Horvat who is on his way to being a number 1 center. Schneider is an average, injury prone goalie.
