<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Several NBA team executives are angry with what they call an unfair advantage that Charlotte Bobcats minority owner Michael Jordan has due to his exclusive access to future NBA prospects in his Jordan Brand All-American high school game and Flight School camps, and they want the commissioner's office to forbid his involvement.Across the league, executives are decrying what they consider to be the new "Jordan Rules" of the NBA."Danny Ainge ends up seated next to Kevin Durant's mother and gets fined $30,000, but Michael goes out and plays one on one with [top high school prospect]O.J. Mayo and it is not a problem?" one Western Conference general manager grumbled."It's a conflict of interest."</div>http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Al82...o&type=lgns
Ow please damn why can't they contact peeps let them do w/e they will all have same chance as the other to talk to college players or do w/e.
Yeah... it seems pretty clear cut. Just don't let him hire NBA prospects, I suppose? It's really hard to put a limitation on this, but I think it's bad to have him all over players that aren't even through college ball yet.
I can see the point from the other teams prospectives. The Leagues drafting has always been one of the fairest in all the sports world, there are strict guidlines which everyone must follow when evaluating talent for the draft. Previously the NBA has come down hard on teams who violate this rule, John Lucas was fined and suspended two games for letting Lebron James practice with the Cavaliers, George Karl was fined and suspended for watching a workout of some players in 05, and owners and GMs have been heavily fined for just mentioning a players name. A lot of this has to do with the trade tampering rules, the league doesn't want some team to completly screw another team over. I think this stems from what the Anderson Packers did to the Sheyboygan Redskins; the Packers contacted a player before they were allowed to, and convinced him to go with them. but the Redskins drafted him, and he refused to play for them, forcing the Redskins to trade him for a lot less than he was worth.

Back to Jordan, this is clearly a violation and as a GM should not be allowed to be involved with those players, he gains a lot of knowledge being around those guys that other GM's can't get.
Jordan either has to stop this interaction or step down from his spot in Bobcats management. Definitely unfair advantage over other teams.
If we are going to ban Jordan from holding basketball camps, we might as well ban other players from holding basketball camps like Carmelo Anthony and Bobby Jackson.
True. I mean, Melo can just go and play then tell the GM. Only he's stupid so he couldn't analyze that 50 Cent is black.

The issue has nothing to do with holding basketball camps.

I'm assuming you were in pain, which is why you posted "Ow." What the hell does "contact peeps" mean? I've heard of contact lenses, but... Eh... Whatever. In the case of MJ, I believe the NBA is being unfair about this. I mean, is David Stern allowing the NBA to d*ck ride Michael Jordan (again)?</span>
What do you mean again? Anyway I don't think theres anything wrong with MJ wanting to play one on one with these guys. After all it's different with him. He's a former player..the best of all time if I must add. I believe MJ simply wanted to take his Office position hat off for just a few hours and be a Basketball player again and go out there to challenge some of the new guys in a friendly one on one game. If Jodan didn't have the job with the Bobcats nobody would have a problem with this at all and even though he does they shouldnt either as long as he doesn't talk to them about joining the team.

Michael was allowed to play against them. Even a better chance to see if Durant/Oden can showcase their talent. I think it is unfair. Just because Michael Jordan was the greatest ever doesn't mean he is allowed to create his own college basketball camp.
The owners of other teams do present a valid point, I mean if Danny Ainge gets fined for sitting next to Durant's mom, MJ should get OWNED by being able to play with the kids and having first hand knowledge about how good they are. Are these camps held all year round?
